Beware the AAVs

Post by Outlawz7 »

Just had an epic round of Kashan on 10th Mtn server.
I came into the game on the US side, thought I'd go fly the A10 but after 10 minutes of camping for it I got bored and went for the Linebacker that just spawned.
Did nothing at start, waited around N Village and somehow managed to take out a BTR90 camping the road out of the US main.
Then we lost Bunkers and enemy started going down on N Village. I took out a few MEC with a second BTR90 going towards it, but the real deal began when there was me in AA, 2 M1A1s and an APC versus two MEC trucks and a Vodnik...talk about organized assaults.

MEC did manage to capture the flag somehow but as soon as I got on the hill the poor running MECcies got toasted. :D

N Village was successfully defended and Bunkers started turning flags again, so I decided to go to there and at the north gate I found a MEC RP and killed the two MECs next to it. I saw a third run away and managed to surprise him whilst we were chasing each other around the bunker in circles.

I went back out, turned east and south down the road when someone spotted a truck going towards the gate from the west. I went back and saw the truck stopping and one guy running out. I killed him in a second, then a BTR90 pulled up. I started firing on him like mad, someone bailed out and got killed by the shells and the BTR90 pulled back. I figured he was solo as he stopped, so I didn't pull back and delivered the death blow.
After that I went north to check the area from safe distance and it was OK.

Bunkers were capped, South Village was also already being attacked, while I was chasing the MiG and Su25 off the skies as they kept coming all the time.
I went to the north side of the map and started shooting at the MiG. Failed then as I went on, someone spotted the MiG again heading straight for me. It looked like he was about to land, as he didn't spam flares and went half the speed as before.
Knowing I won't get another chance like this, as both Su25 and MiG were a PITA to shoot down, I fired 2 missiles and although he released flares in the same moment, the missiles destroyed him.

I then went back to Bunkers going through the barricades to North Bunker since the crazy commander had set up the CP there I decided to stay in the area since we had to defend Bunkers again. I was hiding north of the South Bunker's opposite bunker as the Frogfoot came in flying so low the APCs started firing on him
I got a lock on for about 2-3 seconds and fired all 4 missiles and all missed due the intense flare spam as soon as I fired the first one at him <.<
Went back to North Bunker to rearm as a MEC truck drove up again, I shot a few rounds into him but the driver bailed out, didn't bother to really check where the heck he went, although I didn't really ignore him as he could have been an engineer who could C4 me.

I now went hiding at the opposite NB bunker and just as I pulled out a low flying Supercow releasing flares all over came flying to North Bunker. I didn't really bother with missiles so I just started shooting the shells at him, killing the passengers one by one and seeing bodies fall out until the heli exploded.

But the happy times were over as we lost all our armor and 2 T90s were closing in. I was hiding east of NB bunker now in hopes of them not spotting me.
I pulled out a bit every 10 seconds to check the undefended South Bunker and managed to score 2 kills as two MEC came in by truck and started running down to the CP.
Kept hiding until I heard an APC, pulled out and saw a BTR90 shooting the **** out of the NB bunker and just as I started shooting at him, the round ended.

He could have been the APC #4 I took out :p

Round ended 10-0

Awesome! The Tunguska is by far my preferred ground vehicle on kashan, and then the linebacker.

I remember playing yesterday. I was in a Tunguska at the north village, capping and defending with tank support. Server wasn´t very full, maybe 6 or 7 a side. It started getting funny when an F-16 decided the best thing to do was try and strafe run me and the tank, about 300 m apart. Once me, then the tank etc... Of course, he didn´t last very long.

Then, later on, I was inside the north village. We spotted an A-10. Not a very wise pilot. He flew around and around me, trying and failing epically to shoot the tank and me somehow. But what I couldn´t understand was his incredible attraction to my AAV, as he kept flying over knowing I was there.

Unfortunately I had run out of missiles, but kept locking on. Finally, to show how he was flying, I shot him down with the cannon. :)

"oh, they're fire and forget all right...they're fired then they forget where the target is"
