I doubt it, would have been very fast, especialy with coding changes.

cant wait to see a server with this on it...

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

Was just playing the op archer server by TTC, was fun being the informant but one guy kept punishing me for TKing him (its unfortunate but he was going to shoot me and I forgave him when he did) and got me kicked. Much more fun when there are constant battles raging

Awesome jonny, You dont have to change everything however, shall we first try to do a test roleplay, and then look at any further changes?

EDIT: we should also have designated pilots, i dont want noobs in an RP game crashing the Merlin that is so usefull in comparasin to my rulles :P

What you could do is make it so people can form squads which are authorised to use any requested kit. Squads would be regular army, whilst someone who just joins and plays as brit is considered Territorial army.

has anyone set up a server? Just a regular server with a password and rules scrolling in side? I want to h ave some RPG fun

its gonna be awesome but it would be much better if we got someone with extensive knowledge of python to code some of the ideas. But it could work OK anyways.

From what i've read this sounds like an awesome idea. Any one gets around to coding the mechanics or at least sets up an RPG server let me know.

it sounds like a great idea, and pretty much what ive always thought insurgency should be...
not just brits running into town and shooting and getting shot at, but more interaction between factions, different roles for each player, insurgents trying to SUBTLY attack the allied forces, not just going around in streets firing randomly at the soldiers 500m away, and so on... just imagine a well coordinated team of ten insurgents trying (with a couple of civ infrormants) to lead a convoy in the middle of an ambush, and hem the convoy in with barricades, and the subsequent firefight... thats how i always imagined insurgency mode.
i think there'd be little enough to change in the actual gameplay, the problem is to find players willing to actively play this kind of game according to the rules, and a well coordinated group of admins that knows how to make sure everyone is playing as they should be.

btw please PM me as soon as a server is online, i wanna try this ^^

Had a couple of ideas last night:

Insurgent kits:
Kits will spawn at caches the same way as they do now only replacing the RPK and RPG with the standard Insurgent, Scout sets etc.

Jobs:
There could be a special building desitnated as the 'Job Centre' (So to speak). This would work like a base/firebase/bunker in the sense that job 'kits' could be taken from here and allow you to do certain jobs around Bashra (EG: Police Officer, Taxi Driver, Courier).

I also had the thought that (I think someone mentiond this) points could work like money. EG: If your a Taxi driver and someone gets into your car the person have 5 points deducted and the Driver gains5 himself (Working like money).
