Abusing admins

Post by PapaDime »

I've been seeing couple of times admins using their power to help their gameplay or just hyping their ego's.

Ok, i try to respect all the players & admins, but respect is something to be earned.
I understand that they pay for the servers etc etc. And "they should do as they please". But I think it's wrong. Just because your paying for the server it shouldn't give you any right to abuse your power.
For what I think it's like saying it's all right to cheat and hack if you don't get caught by the PB. 'Cause it nonemore than getting an advantage that shouldn't be there.

I was thinking that could there be like some standard rules for the game admins to prevent this kind of behaviour? Something you should agree that you even can run a server at first place.
I think that there should be some standard rules concerning things like: main base attacking etc. things which pretty often gives people a change to stretch or deliberately ignore the rules.

Or at least there should be game server rules on the loading screen, atleast a small summary of them (rules).

Suggestion for the main base problem: Could there be the like some clear borderline which could be seeing at the map. A line that you shouldn't cross unless the main is the last flag (or if you're destroying assets).

At the end of the day if you don't like how a server is administrated, don't play on it! Vote with your feet and if enough people feel the same way, the server will sit empty and the admins won't have anyone to play with.

Well, server admins do have to agree to some stuff when applying for the server license, but in their server they are the dictator.

i am just curious how admins manage to "give themselves and advantage / cheat"? to my knowlege bf2cc dosn't give you the ablity to see where every enemy is, so if you think this is the case i believe you are mistaken. no offence but i fail to see where your complaint is comming from.

If you are who I think who you are your son was unbanned, but your other friend is not and you can check the site for more information.

You think that is fine well we don't.

And for your information someone was hacking last night and your friends were the most suspicious looking.

As for a "main base line". Thats really up to the server man. Some servers don't let you attack the main others do. It's up to the admins not really the mod to decide which.
If brute force doesn't work.......your not using enough of it.

My game and forum alias is the same. No I wasn't playing last night.
I don't think it's ok to hack, cause there ain't no point on it. It's like getting a penalty kick at football by acting to get knocked down and only thing that is touching you is the wind. (thats the story to tell your grandchildren, old man won the cup by acting...) or playing a game at your own using cheats.(then who you are cheating LOL)
My computer skills are limited to power button =) and that I can install stuff. I was only preferring that they both give you an unjustice advance.

My point was not to make people angry or point fingers. just read some similar threads and decided to give my opinion.
There are admins who use their power to get jets and stuff. (I dont fly.cause I cant, so that really dont consern me but its a shame)
I was trying to get a conversation about the fact that sometimes some people have abuse their power and I was living with a knowledge that this shouldn't be the point in PR. But a fair (and good) game for all of us.

Someone said that voting with your feet is the best thing and I agree.

All of this probably doesn't come out cause english is not my native language. And using the term: you, it's not mentioned to mean anyone specially. Sorry for that. p.s. I dont have a son but a daughter.

Some examples? Because I've been playing BF :P R for at least 4 months and I haven't faced a single case like this on TG, TB, IGI, T&T, RR, 10th-M. Servers with bad reputation won't be populated because no matter how much power an admin has, he can't do anything to decide where - and with whom - people will play.

This thread will eventual turn into flame bait so its closed. Take it up at the servers forums.
