*Crack* Sprint increase?
Problem - Your in a safe environment and out of stamina.
Solution - You just wait for the sprint bar to refill
Problem - You come under fire and are out of stamina.
Solution - Probably death.
In my opinion when ever you hear the *SNAP* your refill meeter should fill up 1/4th as to simulate an adrenalin rush.
(For a safeguard: This should be limited as in only happening once every 3 min.)
If it's hardcoded just state that and close the thread.
Thoughts?

Re: *Crack* Sprint increase?
Whenever the suppression effect is activated you refill sprint up to 25%, if it isn't already there?
I'm in support of it, it would have to be only if an enemy fired at you. Otherwise you would find squads shooting at the ground to get places faster. Before .8, I would have definitely said no, but with such limited sprint nowadays, I think this would work.

I don't think this can be done.

How would you set it up? There definitely isn't an existing mechanism for this.+SiN+headhunter wrote:i think it can be done..

So the more I shoot at an enemy the longer he can run?
I mean, he can keep running as long as I shoot at him?

I wouldn't know, but isn't this a little what you might go through in real life? When people shoot at you, I bet you can run with more energy than you knew you had.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

Agree, but adrenaline doesn't last forever. Stamina in PR should be saved for when you really need it. When you walk/jog you're also more aware.mat552 wrote:I wouldn't know, but isn't this a little what you might go through in real life? I agree, it doesn't fit ingame.GoreZiad wrote:So the more I shoot at an enemy the longer he can run?

Even though an adrenalin rush when fired upon is very realistic, it kind of removes the upper hand of the shooter, which destroys the gameplay.
Just save your stamina instead.
Slightly increased running time or a tad faster stamina regen, wouldn't hurt though

Re: *Crack* Sprint increase?
Like I said in the other thread, I think the bar should be bigger, but also with a bigger "red" zone. So if you really need to push it you can, but the negative effects such as having to wait even longer to sprint again, loud breathing, and slight visual effects would make you think about whether you really wanted to push yourself.
As I hope most people have experienced at some point in their lives, pushing yourself in intense aerobic exercise such as sprinting really ****s you over, when you start getting to your limits you can keep going, but if you stop it's pretty much impossible to start again, having a large "red" area of the sprint bar would simulate that pretty well.

Re: *Crack* Sprint increase?
I like this. It's realistic and adds a cool new aspect to the gameplay. However, it needs to be implemented correctly (if it can be done) to stop it being exploited as previously mentioned. The 'Friendly Fire' option can tell the difference between your teams bullet's and the enemy's, so it should be possible.
I would say that it needs to only be able to happen every 10 or 15 mins because whilst adrenaline is amazing and can really get you out of tight spots, it's still limited by your body. This negates the 'the more I shoot the further he can run; problem 'coz it can only happen once until either you kill him or he kills you.
Also, I would say that it would have to be activated by a few near misses, not just one. So after two or three *crack* in quick succession, say in less than 5 seconds, you suddenly realise you're in the sh*t and your heart beats faster (extra sound effects?) and you get a sudden burst of energy. And I say screw 1/4 sprint make it more like 1/3 or 1/2 the amount of energy it can give you is incredible!
But a skilled marksman will still be able to kill you - your sprinting speed has not increased...or maybe it should do...a short burst of faster sprint...? But instinct tells me that this, whilst realistic, might unbalance gameplay too much.
However, AnrK's idea was great too, there's no reason why the two couldn't be implemented together, I think they would fit quite nicely, especially the large 'red area' with the adrenaline boost - it reinforces the fact that it's one shot of energy that you can push all the way if you really need to.

Or you can make it like Far Cry 2, which is realistic. If you push yourself TOO MUCH, to the bottom of that long bar. Then the screen starts to get all wavy, because your heart is pumping like crazy.

But PR's sprint isn't even a real sprint, it's more of a jog. (Regular movement is like walking) If there are going to be more negative effects added, then sprint needs to be much faster.pclipse_teh_owner wrote:Or you can make it like Far Cry 2, which is realistic. i would say opposite , regular movement is jogging, only way to walk is scope inCobhris wrote:But PR's sprint isn't even a real sprint, it's more of a jog. (Regular movement is like walking) If there are going to be more negative effects added, then sprint needs to be much faster.

No offense, but if you think that that is jogging speed, you must be 70 or something. Trust me, a young strong man (like what real soldiers are) can easily move faster than the snails in PR, even with ~50 lbs of **** on his back.gazzthompson wrote:i would say opposite , regular movement is jogging, only way to walk is scope in

Amen.
How does movement speed relate to map scale? I'm sure there's a reason that the 'sprint' is so slow, but what is that reason?
