Tanks and APCs are bigger in real life. They cannot increase the size as the models they use are vBF2 models, plus they would need to redo the roads to fit such a large vehicle.

But yeah, tanks are monsters comparing to infantry size-wise.

Really.. i was imagining a mini chinook. it would be great.

/sarcasm off

was referring to exactly what the guy after you was saying. Is it going to be a scaled down version, or how will it compare in size to the Blackhawk/Merlin.

Give them some sort of armoured, supply crate carrying vehicle?
One solution would be to upgrade the Mi-17 to 2 supply crates, since it's load capabilities are similar to the Chinook IRL. Only problem is, a new chopper comparable to the Blackhawk would have to be built for the MEC and PLA. Eurocopter Dauphin (AKA Harbin Z-9) anyone?

Chinook Gunships are very, very real.

But they havent seen service since 'nam.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

In terms of troop load capability, the Dauphin and the Blackhawk are more in line with each other. According to my source, the BH, Dauphin and Huey hold around 14, 12 and 8 troops respectively.

If you ask me, I think the Hueys should be stripped of their supply crate and used in the Littlebird's role for the USMC (the USMC doesn't even have LB's IRL). Then the Sea Knight introduced as a single crate chopper.

Yeah I know it holds 26 troops, but it seems more realisitc than Littlebirds and Hueys packed with supplies as well as troops. And yeah, there's the issue with all Sea Knights being replaced by the MV-22 by 2014, but I bet if the US went up against the Middle East and China in a full-scale conflict they'd be keeping a fair few out there.

As for a 2 crate chopper, who wouldn't like to see a Sea Stallion? :D

Zomg, against who would you use such a thing. Iam guessing against somebody whose tech tree ends at about the ak 47.

Apparently 4 were deployed in Vietnam and 3 destroyed.

I think it´s enough that the chinook would had room for 8 players and two crates. So the chinook could offer a quick method to plant firebases and such. Aside of this, maybe if the chinook could leave a light vehicle or some kind of equipment... for example, heavy infantry kits (could it be possible with BF2 engine?).

And sorry, i know my english needs a lot of improvement.

+1

Hueys would be hard pressed to drop a big crate like that anyway.
