What would you love too see change in Al Basrah
We arent looking at a total overhaul here, but what kinda things do yo think the map could really benefit from. This is the actual map, DO NOT post suggestions about the following:
DO NOT ask about Gameplay Changes
DO NOT ask about Vehicles
DO NOT ask about Kits
DO NOT ask about Ammo Caches
DO NOT ask about Factions
DO NOT ask about Flags
DO NOT ask about Spawnpoints
DO NOT ask about Insurgency Game Mode Changes
DO NOT ask about pick up kits
DO NOT ask about Tickets or Ticket Bleed
Basically want suggestions for:
- Colors
- Lighting
- Weather
- Effects
- Static placement
- Terrain
- Roads
- Rivers
-etc

The land bridges should be removed at least on the east half of the map so that the insurgents can create chokepoints more effectively
the bridge on the west side of vilage should be destructable
caches shouldn't spawn in a field, as secure crops can be.
The desert on the east side could benefit from something, anything given that there is a huge bridge connecting it to the mainland, a few buildings and a possible cache location would work
might be a bit heavy..but VCP could be moved to the north side of the river rather than the south and be closer to the bridge
some more fields on the city outskirts would be awesome. those buildings between vcp and the city seem rather random
p.s. if possible some of the enerables from Muttrah and more imaginative use of the enterables to produce differing buildings rather than clone blocks, more like Archer but tidier if pos

Can't think of anything specific to be honest. Maybe some more action in the south west corner of the map. There's usually nothing to do there

As long as the minimum distance between hideouts is low, a lot of vehicles for insurgents to allow them to get out into the western village. Or perhaps some destructible, permanent, mapper-placed rally points there.
I always felt that part of the map was grossly underused, since the Brits can simply control all access to it, popping any caches that happen to spawn there before insurgents make it there.

+1Dr2B Rudd wrote: caches shouldn't spawn in a field, as secure crops can be.
More fields would be great, more around VCP would be nice as it would mean that insurgent attack on it would have some cover, particularly if when the new type of fields is implemented.Dr2B Rudd wrote:some more fields on the city outskirts would be awesome. those buildings between vcp and the city seem rather random
Lots of love

Off-ramps/on-ramps for the raised road in the south running east-west.
Remove the bump where insurgents can park a technical and fire into the airport.
Add statics below any roof top cache locations that force you to jump after visiting it.
More rocks and debris on the main road in front of mosque.

Anyhow, the city itself should be a bit bigger and a couple of more and new statics.

Weather effects should be like the blue sky Kashan pictures we've all seen, but if bad weather was to be put in I think the desert storm type sandclouds might be good, if they don't lag too much.
Basrah .5 lighting was damned depressing, but it would be fun still.
While you're at this any chance on a couple of day 1, 2 etc scenarios?
e.g. day 1 is what we have now, day 2 has VCP as a flag like the old days and you have to defend it and destroy caches etc. There is potential for asset manipulation there, but as you said not to go there, I wont

I'd like to see the villages to the west larger, and with some non destructable assets intertwined, and maybe have the roads "blocked off" with the concrete barriers like the ones inbetween tank traps on kashan so vehicles must go through a narrow pass entering the city.

Maybe like some basic checkpoint stuff at the N/S road too? Like the concrete barriers just east of the bridge over the W/E one. Could make for good defensive positions/IED hiding places.

Very dark/almost night or heavy dust storm.

Re: What would you love too see change in Al Basrah
VCP defence placement is a little odd, I don't like it when people block off enterances with sandbags etc I count that as glitching, could you replace the little bunkers on each side of the enterance with a 50 cal on each side so people don't have to rely on rovers for 50cals which MR blue smurf come and steal with you still in them.
if those little bunkers stay, could they be beefed up a little?
