I've been fairly successful at sniping in .85, but I actually learned things from your video that will improve my sniping. Thanks!

very handy
can someone make a video to demonstrate to numpties why not to
run into CQB with a sniper weapon... there is so much of that with the new influx of players...
but I guess it's inevitable with EA advertising this mod now...

Yeah I never knew the times but I used to wait a lot longer just to be sure. This helps a lot, but can you make a guide on how much higher the reticule needs to be for longer shots? I have a problem with those.

Re: Your sniper guide for PR 0.85
I will try to, but its hard to find a good spot to do that. Operation archer would be perfect.
Problem with over 600m shots is relativity.
If i am at the top of the tower on the big hill firing on the mosque area or beyond, i dont have to aim above the target as much as if i was the person who is shooting from below at me towards the tower. The sniper below me will aim a tad bit higher.
So in general, its all about getting a feel for it. I strongly suggest having a spotter, especially for those over 600m shots.
He is the one that will let you know where the bullet ended up. Too high, or too low, then you can make adjustments that way.
ALso, keep in mind that some sniper rifles have one zoom, and some have two.
So, me aiming above with a single zoom scope will look like i barely moved above the target, while the double zoom it will look like i moved it up more.
Therefore its all relative to where, what, and with what.
Still, il see what i can do.

Re: Your sniper guide for PR 0.85
I always found that maps with a short view distance throw me off (like sunset city), because I'll see someone who's barely visible through the fog and think he's about a kilometer away, whereas the view distance may only be 500m.ralfidude wrote: Therefore its all relative to where, what, and with what.

Thats true Jay, so if im not SL, i try to ask my SL to give me a move marker on the target and that should be enough.
Actually to make it easier on the SL, i would ask the SL to place a marker on a flag persay, and you use that distance to measure out if the target ur aiming at is further or closer than that marker.

Depends on the size of the map. Asad khal's grid reference will be smaller than a map like Kozelsk.ralfidude wrote:Just for a reference im going in game right now and im going to measure how many meters is one grid reference on the map. Makes more sense.
