I think the SPR should only have the silencer on on night maps. I like a bit of crunch from my sniper rifle, not the little "pffft" I get at the moment. And yes, I'll say it again, I really think the ghile suits need to be dropped on urban maps. If the SPR is being used, the ghile should be dropped. It won't take that long to model the urban sniper outfit, just combine parts from the other models. Just put that engineer hat on a spec ops guy for the USMC for example, then there's a sniper.

Not sure about the sniper class..I was thinking "reality" ...drop..32.2 per sec...point blank...hold under....on the map with all the hills, I forget the name of the map now but had a target below me about 450yrds away, I shot all around him and didnt he run, could I hit him .... no...lol. I went over to assault after that.

IMHO, the ghillie suit could be dropped too. I agree, but what about on the jungle maps? Jungle fever provides amazing cover for ghillie users, and aren't there separate models for jungle maps and desert maps? oh well.
BTW, I know this shouldn't be here but when BF2 0.3 comes out, will you guys remove the drop vehicle function? It sounds pretty interesting, and I would really love to have a Humvee dropped near me when Im stuck lugging it in the middle of the desert.

Just an FYI for you guys, the M24 has about the same accuracy as the SVD. Its hard to do a direct comparison because of the number of different deviation settings for each weapon, but they even out to be about the same accuracy wise.
Us Devs definately agree that the ghilie suit should be taken off of urban maps. However, its not as easy as it may seem. The parts of a kit's outfit are not seperate, they are all one model so we can't just cut and paste pieces together like Malik suggested. So, in order to change the sniper outfit on urban maps we would have to model a whole new outfit and skin it, which takes time. It comes down to the fact that we just didn't have enough time to do it for 0.3. I'll put it on the to-do list for 0.4 though.

t wouldn't be wrong to lower the SVD's accuracy anyway. It has an accuracy of 2MOA at 600metre, compared to 1MOA at 800 metres for the M24, and the M24 is limited in accuracy by round diameterdriftist wrote:Actually, maverick's right. Autoloaders use smaller calibre, should have less damage and should have more bullet drop/bullet deviation/innacuraccy than an M24, or a barret for example.
That would also mean lowering the SPR's accuracy, just for even game.

Yes, it would be more logical to make the M24 more accurate than the SVD. However, for balancing reasons I think the SVD should be left as is until we get a chance to revamp the MEC arsenal altogether. We wouldn't want to give the US an unfair advantage against the MEC (counter-sniping wouldn't work very well if the M24 can easily outshoot the SVD every time).'[R-PUB wrote:maverick']KOC can I just ask, the SVD is a designated marksman rifle and the M24 is an actual sniper rifle, wouldn't it be more logical to make the M24 more accurate

Have a look at my PMs
Ah **** - I forgot to put in the SV98 or 99
In fact with the M40A1 being phased out, perhaps the MEC could get that? And plus there are a bunch of ex-Soviet sniper rifles (and modern Russian rifles) that are filtering into the MEC region (both suppressed and non-s).
