[MAP]Bibikha ICBM Facility

Post by AREM117 »

I found this area and thought it would make an awesome map.
Google Maps
There are multiple launch sites, train depots, a helicopter base, a supply depot and a lot of other facilities. Here is the area I found with the most items. I created a plan for this map but if anyone decides to make it they can decide to make it different. Also there is a very small river you can see in the terrain map. Dont tell me to make it myself. I'm just putting this idea out here for people to see. I would love to see this map in the next release.

It would be USMC versus RU. 4km

32p Layout(Ground Based)
USMC
2x Logistics Truck
4x LAV25
2x Tow HMV
2x Abrams

RU
2x Logistics Truck
4x BTR60
2x Spandrel
2x T72

64p Layout(Air Based)
USMC
3x Huey
2x Huey(Hydra)(20 min delay)
1x Cobra(No Respawn)

RU
2x Logistics Truck
4x BTR60
2x T72

EDIT: How far away is .9 anyway? Maybe .95 then. But I wasnt asking the devs to make it maybe a fellow player would be interested.

You want to see this map in the next release? Are you kidding me.

And I have to say it all the DEVs are busy with the next release and you should make this map if you really want it. Plus a 4km map will take at least 6 months probably more to make it somewhat decent.

Hmm, Dont you think for the 64 Player map, you can have some Ground units?

Not everyone is the best at flying.... Besides, you need ground units to cap ;) , the huey(s) dont respawn the fastest :)

Well its a suggestion and to make even a 2k, map based on the pic would be nice I like using the saying for this instance, would if I could, it fits very nicely. But come on this map could do some good, obviously would need to be sized down, but would still work, consider it not in a near future but a 0.95 or 1.0 release, PR is becoming already really big so no point in using the excuse, trying to keep file size down, as long as its got a minimising effect on lag I'm sure people would be fine, besides I think that having a double in the current file size for a 1.0 release would be awesome, in other words, way more maps, factions, diff modes, hopefully even the one I suggested in as a thread. Heck a replaced aircraft carrier that can be destroyed or immobilised to the point that people got to repair it in order to spawn there would be cool, so people can hijack it/blow it up and plant rally point (that’s realistic).

Too bad. Make it yourself. There are too many map ideas and too few mappers. If you really want to see this map in PR, do it yourself. Until such time, use the search function, the *** list and forum rules to figure out what you should be posting, and what you shouldn't.

Uhuh. You can't just come up with such a specific thing and say "I want this, but don't tell me to do it", a particular asset is kinda fair enough cos there might be some tactical merit in it or for realism purposes etc etc, but a map idea - which you've also added a shopping list of assets for which is one of the later stages of creating a map it would seem along with choosing flags - is very different.

Does look like a cool place to fight, but you'd have better off posting it in the community modding section and not putting the idea in selfish terms of "Don't tell me to do it myself".

Wow guys lay off the guy. He obviously knows he wouldn't do justice to the map for whatever reason. So he has contributed his idea of a great map. I commend him for it, and if i wasn't tied up making my own map i might consider this as it looks like it could be a really good map. Like Quinling but more industrial/military based areas.

Everyone is so quick to say "make it yourself" to anyone who suggests a map. But the reality of it is, mapping isn't for everyone. Just take a look at games like Farcry, with an easy to use map editor, everyone and their dog makes maps for it. But then the problem is finding the quality maps. And with the high standards of PR as far as realistic looking maps, i don't blame anyone for not wanting to take on the task of creating a map that will one day be included. It's a lot of work, and not everyone has the artistic mind set (or ability) to change a flat piece of empty land into an enviroment that looks and feels like a real battlefield. Or the crazy amount of time it takes.

:28_behead No we will not lay off. There are hundreds, thousands of ideas for maps that people have floating around in their head, they need to put up or shut up. Every single mapper in PR started somewhere with an idea that they decided they wanted to make a reality. No map in PR is there because someone posted a thread like "I have a really cool idea for a map, but I'm not willing to put any effort into it". It's lazy. If he wants to make the map, he needs to work on it himself. Otherwise these suggestion forums will fill to the brim with people saying "I have a map idea, but I'm too lazy to do the work".

So don't read the suggestion forum posts that have [Map] in the title. This thread isn't hurting anyone. And he has indeed put some effort into this idea. Finding the location and outlining the bases and assets, is work. Not a lot of work compared to mapping, but its a start.

And i'd rather see people who have a passion for mapping, doing the mapping. Rather then some guy whos just doing it because he wants to play it.

My only real qualm was with his phrasing of "don't tell me to make it myself", probably took it the wrong way though.

He said not to and look how many people told him to. Could you imagine if he hadn't said it?

Reminds me a lot of the german forces map called "Codename Silent Eagle"
Flag layout is virtually the same.

However the idea is pretty good, I like it.
