This should probably be a new thread, but since sniper rifles are the subject her I give it a shot. I am new to this mod and would like a short overwiew of the sniper rifles for the opponents in the game. Just damage, accurazy and which you prefer. I have just started and would like to see if my first impression is right, thanks.

Actually ive heard, that the old English Hand made sniper rifles are actually the best rifles ever made, but they stopped using them due to hand made being over expensive or something. Im not saying its fact, ive just been told by various people from military backgrounds, only what ive heard though.
Secondly, ive been sniping since BF2 came out (SP and MP). And Your M24 seems to be fine at short/Medium ranges, but when you shoot Hellish ranges like i do (El alamein XL) the accuracy does go a bit off, especially when aiming at idle characters, which are impossible to miss even at 250m. Ive Taken bullet drop into consideration and possible windage. Im not sure if this was intentinoal by you guys, but IMHO if i was good enough to become a sniper in the army, im sure i could hit that.

We have been well aware of this for quite some time. It will be corrected eventually.Crawley wrote:I dont think the M24 is an urgent deal, if the developers have time they may want to look into the M40 as it is more commonly used by that marines, you will find the M24 associated with the Army more.

We're not. I and others have gathered plenty of references so when we do start to model it, we'll have enough. The USMC is very good about having high res photos on their website.Crawley wrote:I know your aware but i dont think its as urgent as some of the other issues nothing to stress over.
Fun fact, though, the M24 is in some use with the USMC with their Military Police Special Response Teams. Not sure why, though; maybe they got tired of hand-me-down M40A1s?
