You would be surprised.OldGoat5 wrote:How would realism ruin teamwork? more realism means more teamwork since in real life you need teamwork...
Oh, and you forgot the 2500m missiles and the "radar guided" AAA cannons that lock onto the aircraft.

"oh, they're fire and forget all right...they're fired then they forget where the target is"

Who said it wouldnt be included?
The mini mod is there to try out new ideas, any of which may or may not be included depending on how polished / signifigant the changes may be.

Well, CAS himself said that its very unlikely. And since you seem to have a teamwork>realism mindset and is one of the lead DEVs, im guessing that you are not exactly willing to get this into the mod.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:Who said it wouldnt be included?

Re: PR combined Arms ? A mod for a mod ? wtf !?
But how would these things make the game less teamwork based you guys are just talking nonsense here. Real deviation on dumb fire rockets? If anything that will make it so sniping with your hydras is impossible, hellfires hitting from above would be cool and realistic especially if they got that to work for the javelin shoulder fired missile.
As long as with the jet guided missiles you still needed someone to laze the targets for you all these features would only add realism to the game and would not take any teamwork away from anything stop being ridiculous, CAS has done an excellent job on all the things he has been working on and I doubt the PR devs are just ignoring his work because its too damn good.

At first I wondered the same questions. Which is only natural when something new is created. Though, there are different applications in-game. Yes, the Mavericks can lock on, but not only on occupied enemy vehicles (unless you're the host for a local server, in which case it's just a bugwaldo_ii wrote:I'm trying to find the videos that I am referring to. I remember them quite clearly, but for the life of me I cannot find them. It may be that they were removed.
I found one that CAS_117 worked on, uploaded by Alex.
YouTube - TRtest
I have also seen a video of a jet (The Harrier?) flying around, switching to radar, and the radar detecting all of the armor within a cone, locking onto that armor by itself, then the pilot drops the bomb. I can't find it, I'm probably using all the wrong search terms. Or the video is gone.
Sure, you could *possibly* try and do it without any cooperation, but so can you now, with the A-10 for instance and it's GAU-8. Just be prepared to eat AA missiles, especially when they get radar and farther ranges.
Frankly, it's quite true that most of the modifications are done with air assets, as Rudd has stated, because it's mainly the work of CAS and Alex, both of whom have experience working with them. Though the changes I have seen are all quite nice and evidently doable.

rocket deviation and top attack mode for hellfires = awesome
conventional landing on an essex class carrier = UNREALISTIC

known in-game as BOOMSNAPP

"a mod for a mod" why not ? PR changed so much more beyond what other mods did. Why not take the deviation etc. and reskin PR to whatever you want, like a vietnam mod and what not.

I think of it as the opposite of "skirmish" mode.Instead of no assets, small maps and only a few people -you get lot's of assets, big maps with large viewing distance
(2km ?) and 64 people of course.
Not to mention all work to make the assets look more like RL counter parts.
I have tried it in game (alone),not just watching the videos.

Well PR SP is pretty much a mod for a mod.Cassius wrote:"a mod for a mod" why not ? PR changed so much more beyond what other mods did. Why not take the deviation etc. and reskin PR to whatever you want, like a vietnam mod and what not.

Hopefully it will be a place to both test new concepts for PR and a place where people can vent their "I really want to go have an epic tank battle" or get revenge on the pilots with a little thing we like to call AA with radar... (ie kill jets from 3km away)

I don't care about all that fancy pancy weaponary.. I would just like to see that wake island map in the future in PR. That is if it's proberly balanced of course.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

I dont see why it will be hard for the air assets to get a little love I mean right now its impossible to do anything in the air because of AA. Sure the AA is realistic, but shouldnt air assets be to? I am no air whore or assets whore I usually play INF, but with the theme around AA and air, I feel that when you have done A you should do B to not just one of them.

I really want the top down rocket, actually it's extremely important in PR.
The lock on thingy in jets are.. Well, i don't know. If a second pilot is using it, i guess it's okay.
But if it's all just one player then it's bullshit. It's also impossible to hit anything while you are in a two seat jet (as the second gunner seat)

Why? Why is it extremely important to PR? I know it realistic and tanks have weak armour on the turret but what does it EXTREMELY important?Killarfromduty wrote:I really want the top down rocket, actually it's extremely important in PR.

Because it could give infantry a valuable tool to use against armor that actually exists irl (the shoulder fired version at least)Spaz wrote:Why? Why is it extremely important to PR? I know it realistic and tanks have weak armour on the turret but what does it EXTREMELY important?
FYI for those who dont know. That wake island map is called seethed waters, and it is a functional 8km * 8km map where the jets can land on the aircraft carrier conventionally (Its actually quite hard to do and take a bit of practice).Sgt. Re: PR combined Arms ? A mod for a mod ? wtf !?
Well it looks nice, a mod itself however leads to one conclusion: It'll be a mod for pilots. They'll have hell of a fun flying and bombing and other players will have to act as their moving ground targets. Unless, of course, I'm just an ignorant and havent digg enough to see the other side of Combined Arms mod.
Good luck, however - new HUDs are looking beautiful.
