Zoddom wrote:i dont like it when you hear the 3rd P gun sound and then with some delay the distant sound, cant you change it to really just one sound at the same time? i hope you understand what im trying to say :D

the gunsounds are a lot better than those on page ~7 (not sure). but they still sound unrealistic to me. I never fired a weapon or heard one, but in your video, there is always just the shooting sound. it seems to me that the round is the only thing that is emitting sound when you fire. But shouldnt the weapon itself also do some sounds, pe when the bolt snaps backwards, especially with the AK series you should hear a loud metallic sound ... or am i wrong?
This cannot be changed by me... (I suppose). Its like that in the default game. Dunno if its a matter of distance. But I agree with you. When you hear the 3rd person-shot-sounds and then millisecods after you hear the distantsounds for that caliber. Really annoying. But i guess that we should be glad that we now HAVE distant sounds. Didnt have that before. But maybe there is a way to change the time so the distantshot plays by itself at a certain distance and get rid of the 3rd person shotsound completly, OR exactly at the same time with each other.

But here again... Change a single little shit in BF2/BF2mod and you'll never play online again. Damn it. Should get some sort of "verify signatures" like in Arma2:Arrowhead. Boring to not play with mods for this already great mod. I was sooo tired of those old sounds, so I thought a change could get me or others more excited while playing PR again.
About having all the struggle (with no stats, 1000000s of clanmatches, but 97% public matches), with a highly realistic aimed military shooter, who the fuck would want to cheat or get advantages with SOUNDS?!!! Geez man, I hope some are with me here.

I would understand it if I was talking about clanmatches-games/stat-depending satisfaction/recently released MP games. But this shit is old, and I've never seen anyone out there trying to cheat in this frustrating "time-killing"-realistic game.

So saying that allowing these types of sound-improvement-mods would allow other to cheat with much other stuff, sounds to me VERY rediculous.

I'll try hook some "red-tags" up and ask if there is a way to allow just MY soundmod, because this is the only soundmod I've found for this game.

Regarding weaponmechanics:
When I've recorded guns I've NEVER noticed any weapon-mechanics to sound as loud as the gunshot itself, BUT it can sound "metallic" as other would say.
I have some sort of "mechanics" in the gunshots in my mod, but that is only for joy sake and the look of animations.
Hope you understood me. :)

Hokkane wrote:You meaning that if these kinds of modifications must be accepted by developers and then to be included in official releases?
Nah, dont think he meant that. I think he meant me to ask (as he didnt have a clue) the devs to approve my "MOD" and let it pass the PB shit. But thats up to me and the devs I suppose.
These sounds are MANY and alot of them came from sources making you NOT independent. Meaning to GET independent youll have to make your OWN records in the field or buy soundarchives like games and movie-studios does for MANY $$$. I only have a few, and those are not the best, so I "took" the best of the best samples from everywhere, like BF:BC2, PR, BF3 etc. etc. including my own recordings to accomplish a soundmod for a mod, ONLY to get another experience from this great military-shooter.
Therefore my sounds in the mod will NOT (according to the devs) make it to their next releases.

There was a sound mod in FH2 and it was working fine online, but yeah Fh2 has way less servers too...

But for the cheating I think cheats like louder footsteps and such are what people mean by sound cheats. Really f*cking up any good moders out there like you Anders... :(

I'll still download it an try it on some servers..

I think everything is perfect except the grenade explosions. IMO, they're a little too quiet.

Thx mate! :) i know. Gotta take look at them. They're mono. Thats why it's hard to make them loud enough. The original sounds has a different type of sounds wich you believe are louder and they even has the same volume, but ill try to make them louder. If they were stereo they would sound much more powerful. But then you Will loose the positioning of the explosions. Bf3 has a smart system. They have the "Bang" in mono, all reverbs/echoes in stereo and it sounds amazing! If we could only add reverbs to all shotsounds separately depending on where u are in a map in PR. :)
But ill ser if i can make the grenades in stereo, just for experiment. ;) cheers

Very nice work. I've enjoyed some of your other work with other games also.

well i think the devs did the distant sounds by linking it to the muzzle flash effect of the gun, so you might want to see if its doable that way

also is the video taken with EAX on or off because it has a noticeable difference

Yeah I have something weird with my xfi soundcard. EAX was on, but I had to untick the "X-Fi CMSS-3D" function for the sound recording while making videos, not sound muffled. Although when I make sounds with CMSS off, and play the result with it ON, the audio sounds soo bright my ears hurt...
Don't know how your experience is guys. Plz tell me. It all depends on what speaker settings and soundcards you have I suppose....

Those m4/16 sound really weak, like som airsoft replicas almost.... g3 kinda weak too...

I dont know, them m4s dont need bases, just more bang. Bu i'd add a bit more bassy bang to the g3.

But the AK variants, holy shit those are amazing.

A lot of good things.

Improvements: Grenades, rather quiet, need more mmph. Same with the grenades from M203's.
Some more Sonic cracks would be cool too.

The 50cal sound needs to be tweaked. Right now it's very quiet and doesn't have the punch that the smaller hand weapons do.

Love the new MG3 sound. It is simply bad ***!

Also are all the extra reload, deploy sounds included changed from the PR's normal ones?

Yeah, gonna see what I can do with the 50cal. :)
Yeah those reloads and deploys that are included are not the PR ones.. Not every weapon has new reloads, but I'm on to that aswell...
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the new MG3 shootsound.
Made a new PKM and MG4 shoot sounds today though, just for fun sake. :D

Here's how they sound.......
