This video.

From what I've learned in my first aid training course, a shock is caused by severe loss of blood. That would take a while, wouldn't it?

My dad(usmc) told me that a round from a kalashnikov will send someone flying if it hits their body armor ~chest area

Flying from a bullet? Not possible as far as I know. Well, the shooter awaits the same fate when he fires

Furrealz_22 your 2 new videos look just awesome!!
And yea totally agree, the bodies should not fly away (like currently), your new video is perfect, they just disappear into the dust cloud..

Bullet can't send anyone flying, if anything - knocking them back. Read this:
Intuitor - Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics
I'm no physic expert but it would surprise me if any common bullet can send man into air like we do have in PR. Check mythbuster or something I guess. ^_^

A shock can be caused by a variety of things, like allergic reactions, illness, heart failure/heart attack or a stroke(and these are only some of the reasons). So unless a bullet severes one of the greater blood vessels, you would not suffer from an immediate medical shock I think.
Still there is the possibility of a syncope(widening of blood vessels), which can be caused by strong pain or fear and can lead to a nearly instant loss of consciousness so I guess this would explain the behaviour described by Raic.
They do not teach this in the one or two day first aid courses in Germany because it is considered to be to complicated for non medical staff.
The medical part is propably not entirely correct and just a rough guess from me as I do not have experience with people being shot and only had some lessons about it. To know it exactly one probably had to ask a military advisor about this.

What happens when you hit people with HEAT? Explain more please. Do bodies fly away with extra super speed or just dissapear? It would be very good if they dissapeared and couldnt be revivable.

Thank you for the insightful information Anarchist.
Until a military advisor can comment on this, I'd say that most of the damage suffered by infantry when a HEAT round impacts nearby is from fragmentation of the shell caused by the detonation of the shaped charge warhead?

As commented on youtube :
"Intermediate value between your work and original PR and it will be perfect.
Your job is very nice, but sometime legs go wrong, thats why i suggest an average between vanilla and you

"
Keep going, it is so far the best improvement done by PR players

spawncaptain wrote:I liked the "slo-moing" effect in the first video better to be honest - it gave me the impression that the person wasn't instantly dead but simply couldn't stand anymore and was slowly sliding down. Now it's like they have just taken an AP shell to the brain.
Just re-read your post and watched the vid, now I understand what you are talking about. When that first video came out, this project was still very WIP and people were saying the ragdolls were falling too slow, so that's why I sped up the animations and increased the gravity. And plus, whenever a soldier would be hit by an explosion, they would fly in the air slo-mo as well, which looked really, really weird... And people were complaining, so I removed that effect completely.

Can you go a bit farther in-depth as to what you mean by "an average between vanilla and you" please? I don't really understand what that means...

Are you talking about a "direct" hit? If so, no they don't fly away at all, they just get knocked back a couple feet and aren't revivable. And I'm pretty sure that coding the ragdolls to disappear when killed isn't possible, but I could be wrong. But if you're talking about just getting killed by being in the HEAT round's radius then check the second video in my signature.

Vanilla is a different way to mention the unmodified original game.
Vanilla BF2 is the game like you bought it in the store.
Vanilla PR is PR like it was released by the development team.
I really like your changes

He just mean that he thought you should let the effects stay between original PR ragdolls and your version.

Either it goes straight trough and hits something behind or explodes. In both case the body would propably blow to peaces.

When people get shot they fall really quickly. I still think the new version is too slow. When a person gets shot, it isn't necessarily he bullet that knocks them down but your reflex that makes your body fall to absorb the shock. For example, when you get hit by a ball in a dodge ball game, the ball doesn't have enough mass to knock you over, but your brain automatically makes you fall back a little to absorb the impact.
I have seen a video of an iraqi insurgent with a RPG getting shot by US Marines in Iraq. Even though it was 5.56, he went down pretty fast. If you can handle a little gore, then you might want to look into this for a more realistic reference.
Also, do you think it's possible to code the wrecks from airplanes to fall faster as well?

Oh yeah, the insurgent is on the middle of a street and we see some bursts landing near him then hitting him right? Yeah, he hits the ground pretty quickly...
