After playing ALOT more of the demo, I am still of the mind that the fixed zoom enhancement of the sniper rifles are too little. Meaning, imho if they are gonna be fixed and not user allowable to their logical abilities... at least a 4X view is needed. IMHO of course. Example. I was under the trains, and a dude was on the end of the Crane.

I could hardly see him at this distance to line up the scope. Same with the Crane to the Hotel. Look at the scope size dudes. Now way should you not be able to hardly see a distant target.

I do like the weaps balancing ala accuracy. Just feel the view could be a bit more logical. Pretty well, that would be my only beef. Accepting for the fact we don`t have ACOGs. lol But PR will give us that. (S)

i was sniping from the roof of a bulding on the edge of the construction site that is closest to the hotel, at people on the top of the hotel. firing nearly all of my ammo and probably getting 80-90% of my shots on target i came away with maybe 9 kills... tell me how that makes sense please.

no idea - sorry. Perhaps you could ask someone on the server or activate the console after joining (perhaps that helps?).

Yesterday I pumped a whole magazine in someone who lay on the ground just in front of me -> nothing happened until I was reloading my weapon: one/two bursts and I was dead.

Or an other time I did an ACCURATE shot at a tank (with an AT-weapon). -> Projectile missed somehow/"went through the object". :? :

X-Fire has now updated their BF2 information, so that it shows server info etc. I'd recommend using that with your friends.

I can see why they feel a low fixed zoom is balanced. They feel if you can see distant targets better, this makes you somewhat uber. If the view is fixed low, this they feel forces a sniper into closer range to make the kills. Allowing you as a sniper to be seen easier.

I am just suggesting that the existing 2x would be nicer if it was 3x or 4x. I am making hits as it is, by adjusting elevation. And even tho I am, it still feels more like luck than an act of will. The fact that you can see any enemy at distances by their colored red name tag highlighting when you pass your ret over them doesn`t make me feel ok with this either. I view that as a crutch. One not needed if we could just make an enemy identification by actual viewing.

I know some genius said... "heyas, lets fix the views low, this way the snipers won`t be uber". They did, and someone said... " but shiz... we can`t see if the target is enemy or friendly now". Then someone said... "let`s make it so when ya put your crosshairs over the target, it lights up red for foe, green for friendly".

LOL I hope in PR, we can just use our scope adjustable views to make an actual visible ID. But if I have to live with it as is, I will.

Haha i dunno i just really liked that, im pretty confident we'll see higher power zoom on the sniper rifles to go along with there being no name tags, which makes visual ID a necessity

Someone said that his framerates halved when he was in zoom mode. Maybe the engine loads a much larger area not just what you're seeing while zoomed? Maybe you would reach the end of visual range at 4x and see only haze...
