What if I tell that medic is not supposed to fight at the front line or distances over 300 m?
There are 7 other Squadmembers who can fulfill this role and Medic is supposed to:
- Stay alive.
- Make sure everyone else in his squad is alive.
When I'm the medic I don't dash out into the field without checking where the bodies are - the less time you spend playing "marco polo" on VoIP through
"TEAMPLAY" (sorry, i couldn't make that one look more sarcastic - no matter how you use the voip and the map to look for bodies it's still a circus show) the less time you're exposing yourself. And no smoke is not always an option - when you're the only one still standing and all you know the enemies are
somewhere nearby next to your downed squad which is "
over there by that green bush" ... are you really going to expose yourself by throwing smoke everywhere letting everyone know of your existence and marking a target for frag grenades to land, or are you going to observe the area to see if you can sneak up there and get the squad lead up so you could then fall back and drop a rally?
Here's another thing - sure, medics aren't suppose to be on the front line, but they should be able to hang back and keep an eye on the front line. Let's also not forget the Sniper squads in which a medic spotter is quite essential (arguably Squad lead could and probably should replace that).

EDIT:
It would seem people see the binocular only as a tool for frontline fighting
I can understand a specialist, a LAT or a HAT or a grenadier
I however don't see why those kits should have binoculars, HAT, yes ... but the rest of your listed kits are special kits - specialist for QCC clearing out buildings(no need for binocular), LAT - for taking down vehicles(effective at close to medium range, no need to look through binoculars when instead you should have the AT round prepped and ready), grenadier - usually you'd have someone near you with a binocular or a scope(rifleman with ammo) or has a scope option in most kit variations I believe anyway(correct me if i'm wrong).

EDIT #2:
I just discovered the new kit additions (Spotter, etc) I have to admit the way the way binoculars are dispensed among kits is reasonable ... still think a medic should have it tho.

If having bino's is not common IRL i think its good to have them removed. Im just wondering why insurgents still got them.

Looks like the decision is already taken unfortunately .
People who want to remove bino are necessarily those who do not use them . They did not understand the usefulness of this tool and they want to deprive us to be in secure .
Please keep it for most kits !

Yep. Why a MEDIC needs a binos? I can understand a specialist, a LAT or a HAT or a grenadier but why people say a medic needs it? I played very intense round(they are all intense now with 100p, rallies and better deviation) on Black Gold(4km version) yesterday as a medic and I never ever needed a binocular, I was simply too busy since people are getting hurt very, very often, healing time is increased and there is just 7 patches so you can't really use them to speed up your revival process anymore.
Easy to mention the only PR1 map that doesn't really require binos. As you say it's most of the time intense CQB fights in the city with a massive sandstorm so quite obviously any type of zoom isn't that useful.

I was not playing sandstorm version, I was playing a regular one, with tanks, jets and shit.

Okay but as you say you played some intense round because it's 100 players etc, so yeah in this case binos are not needed. It is quite obvious that you don't need binos when you are busy reviving and fighting..
But think about when you are in a defensive position for example, don't only narrow it down to this specific case you mentioned

When I'm in a defensive postion I'm:
A)cover our squad's back, if we are defending in cqc environment.
B)search for cover and stay low until we move/somebody needs a medic if it's in open ground.

B) .... while you could be more useful checking the area cautiously, spotting enemies etc.
Think of it!

Nope. We have other 7 dudes for that, I think it's better for me to stay alive.

What if i tell you, you can stay alive while spotting? And sometimes you must hold a flag longer than 5 minutes and if your squad is good, there is not always somebody to heal all the time. If you are not careful enough to use binos and stay alive you use them wrong. There are enough situations where it is helpful to your squad and way more helpful than simply doing nothing to stay alive. Every Squadmember should try to stay alive, that is not a medic only business. When the rest of the Squad is fighting you could be useful and check the flanks if other enemies approch, because the others wont do if there is already a contact. But for now, yeah you can hide and wait.

Medic should stay 10x more alive, spotting something lowers your chances to stay alive. That's it.

In open grounds? No.

Did i wrote something about open ground where anybody who sticks his head out is gonna die - no... If you want to defend something you search a good position to defend...
If you under fire on open ground by LMG its clear that you should leave u head down, binos or not.

Sorry don't really understand what you are trying to say.
Why do you need binos if it's not an open ground? If it's city or woods you can spot without binos. By open ground I mean large distances all around. If you have a forest or something behind it's better for someone (like medic)to look in that direction, right? And you don't binos for that.

Sometimes the LMG gets you before you know that you are under fire, way more often it happens when you try to "spot" something.

I thought or an area without proper cover, misunderstanding.
In CQB or wood binos are not needed, that is quite clear. When you have large areas around but your squad is in a save position they are quite useful. The scoped people that can actually fight enemys that are far away are busy doing so and expose them because they need to take them out, but as medic you have to search for a hole while only looking to the ground because you dont even can spot enemys in every direction, even the "back" of the squad because you can never say if there is danger or not because you dont even see them approaching. And thats a problem i think. I liked the way before where you could more useful in this situations and not only a healbot.

I see if someone is approaching even without binos, my monitor is smaller than my resolution(1920x1080) so I'm getting a pretty small picture but still can see some dots, then I check my map to see if those dots are enemy or not and report to my SL.
When it's necesarry to just spot(not engage) I don't need no binos to do it.

[quote=""'[R-DEV"]AfterDune;1908823']That's still slightly more than 1 day. Play many more days and

There is not that many days for Beta.
Right now you still have chance to fix this.

Better have one die fro spotting than for entire squad to walk into killzone and ALL die.

They can "fix" it at any moment they want. It's not like 1.0 will be the last and only update.

Just like they have suddenly reverted to old rallypoint system they can give you your precious binos back.

If you don't want to "ALL die" you usually sent a pointman ahead of your squad.
