It's kind of cool, but the problem is that if you want you can play them like it's day time.

- I dislike that:
There is no server anymore where all known clans would join up and had semi/balanced teamwork games going, night in night out. Sometimes had to wait 30 mins to before you could auto join. Like on NEW, with commander, clans vs clans to balance it out, great admins that knew each strengths etc etc.
INS, I wish I could make that disappear
The silence on SL chat, it is getting worse and worse.
The lack of communication in general, the times i asked a medic right next to me to heal and getting 0 response.
To many asset maps played.
To many old players/clans not there anymore.
To many new players that do not learn the game by reading up or listening, simply cause no mic and they think it is BF2.

For the most part, I really enjoy where the game is at in the current state (besides what they did to insurgency). My biggest complaints are not tied to the actual game as much as it's things oriented towards it.
Most server admins I've come across are egoistic fags and have a funny problem of either not doing their job of warning/kicking people (usually micless people that want to take an asset for a ride), or are extremely zealous in their duties of administrating and kick people for the smallest things. This seems to be a cross-server issue.
Another problem is how repetitive admins are in doing mapvotes where we get the same maps and layers over and over and over. There's alot of maps out there, sure some of them are mediocre or bad, but there's no reason to be playing Saaremaa, Muttrah two, three times a night.
Alot of the older players are gaining an increasingly larger elitist attitude. While new players can always get a leg up by reading the manual, you can't expect a brand new person to know all the mechanics that we've known for years. Noobs are gonna noob. Being a huge **** is just going to scare them off and reinforce the stereotype that milsim/tac-shooter players are autistic elitists. After reading this thread, just reinforces the sentiment of all the regular/older players in a circlejerk that people are ignorant of things, or aren't 100% business 100% of the time. Not everything talked about has to be crucial information about the game. People casually chat about stuff, it's natural.
I really think this game could use some better advertising to bring in more players, as I've noticed the community is only getting smaller. The only places I've seen PR mentioned (rarely) is Moddb, 4chan, the occasional youtube video, and I imagine it's on Reddit. With Squad siphoning people off in the tac-shooter genre, PR needs to step up it's game to bring in new players.
Now some actual game issues
>M16 variants seem vastly superior to the AK. Biggest problem is the damage and recoil. The M16 does seemingly comparable damage to the AK, with far less recoil, deviation and throwoff of the sights.
>I really miss the old Gaza map
>Helis could be faster for the most part, some, like the older Hueys feel deceptively slow.
>Z-9/Panther heli desperately needs to have it's balancing reworked. Currently, it's the fussiest heli to control, and especially landing where anything other than a 3-point touchdown will lead to tipping over.
>Handling animations for crew/static/vehicle weapons would be great. Not sure if this is engine limitations or not.
>Cache spawn locations need to be reworked in insurgency. Some are impossible to attack or defend.
>Hit detection is wonky (again I think it could be linked to engine limitations). It's acceptable, but improvements are always welcomed.
>Transport vehicles need more seating to fit an entire squad of guys. If this can't be done, additional trans assets can compensate.
>Insurgency mode in current iteration is fucked, needs to go back
Overall, fairly happy where the game is/has been for the past year, still my favourite thing to play.

Unless if you are talking about the Iron Sight, can we have a new model for all iron sights M4 and m16?

It's as if people don't try anymore and play their own way without any regards for the team.

Back after many years absent from PR! Crazy to see this going so strong after 13 years on this forum. Loving the game again, still not played anything like it.
Some thoughts from this old PR contributor and TotalBf2 founder:
- Lack of inter SL comms still an issue, but cant code players, right?
- Mortars often lack targets from SL's as they are busy leading. Also the destroy and rebuild exploit is probably used a lot.
- Rally points may need a tweak. They last for 60 secs unless near a flag or FOB, but often used as a radar to enemy infantry. "Oh our rally is down, enemy at XYZ".
- Being a medic - good to see they have a scope now so are more versatile. Hate that role, though.
- Still no Sangin!!! Sad face.

INS is a flawed gamemode.
All the INS team has to do at match start is not spawn in and they win the game

what? how does that work if the insurgents dont spawn in then blufor can just blow the caches

Caches only spawn if you gain intel, if you cant kill any insurgents, no intel.

I doubt that such occurrence and coordination to hold spawn for 50 people will happen in a public game. I don't see you point.
Unless you mean that you were trying trying to kill all cache fast on a seeding server were there was many afk seeders on the Opfor side or got trolled by opfor team in a clan match or tournament.

Capturing civilian insurgents (shooting them w/ shotgun or arresting them) will give more Intel... I think?
Either way, I Think it's fine as is. Or if they really want to change it, every 30 minutes of not getting enough intel for a cache, it revels a cache.

I dislike the communities that have popped up that go against what PR built up over the years. I dislike the lack of rules, and horrible administration. I abhor the responses given to players who criticize how certain servers are ran, and how the admins will always stick together and sometimes blame the victim. I am tired of servers that encourage asshat-ery, and coddle retarded admins when they make mistakes that should revoke their administration rights.

Why no maps? I tired playing same maps over and over again. Why are you deleting old maps? Also I remember there was a christmas pack why cant you put them in standard pack? Does they weight too much or what?
2. Mines is OP. Now it's really hard to spot them it's ok, but why you can't defuse enemy mines?
3. BMP3 no thermal.

1. old maps don't meet PR standards (too arcade etc. small). Also you can't make good map overnight.
2. I guess mines are supposed to be hidden. Wasn't that a bug you can't defuse them?
3. It has no thermal irl, though some export versions have it.

There's 73 maps if you count the unoffical mappack. Whine at admins for not playing the others, or the community for not liking them

Eh, to many people working on 4km maps, 2km are much easier to pump out. I also wouldn't be against seeing more solid inf/ mech inf (sticker level apc/ifv) 1km type maps.

agreed.
harder to get that awesome sense of close quarters with infantry screening for an APC/IFV only 1 or 2 meters back in the center of the road, with infantry infront and flanking the road.
only get that on some maps like the chinese river map, or the town in Silent Eagle, op. marlin, xiangshan's town. the current variety is ok though.
what i don't understand is the hate for maps like Korengal Valley, Ramiel aas.
