Lock on warnings, are they Reality?

I did not feel like reading all of the posts. I hope this same info was posted already but if not. Sa-7's are heat seeking. They dont need to lock on at all. Yes locking on is unrealistic. I actually thought about suggesting this a very very long time ago. However, I feel they are nec because without warning, there wouldnt be enough time to shoot out your flares. But maybe there is. IDK anyways, there is to much fog, and aircraft have to fly alot lower and closer to their targets.

Could we not just have it so that aircraft have a mass of flares to use as was mentioned on the first page? So when pilots go in as close air support they just use a "$£% load on their runs.

It would also eliminate circles of death as well as someone also mentioned, man I love plagiarism.
