I think most people work on the basis of "why should i protect my assets?, theyre only going to respawn, and if it keeps a 6 man enemy squad from getting into the real fight, then all the better"

id rather have a 6 man squad sabotaging rather than losing all my tanks.

There you go, first page, one of the first posts.

Would you consider that to be sabotage or the vehicular equivalent of spawn camping?
No. That's ambushing. You're actually committing yourself to hiding out and waiting for your target to come to you. You're not just running in, dropping a mine, and forgetting about it.

If you want to be the super clever stealthy l33t spec op, you could just as well play vanilla, i really don t see why you would play PR .
Try play in a squad and help eachother instead of trying to deny others of having a nice game in a sneaky way. Just be a good sport and play fair.
Ban all noob servers, what are you on, you really sound like a teamplayer.
Sorry I stopped following this thread, took long. Anyways
lets see here... SAS?!?!
The SAS is was greatly known for sabatage in its birth.
Sabatage is still an important thing, they train snipers to take out specific key targets like radios, computers ect.
You dont hear about actual actions that take place because they arent "battles" and sometimes nobody dies, therefore why would you hear about it. Its not like these missions are announced to everyone.

If I made a squad spesifically for guarding assets in main base, who would even bother to stay and camp for 40 minutes?
Hmmm ... actually ...

What if there were a no singing rule in the main base ?

Ah cool here it is again.
Yes but SAS don't go and stick C4 on tanks in their main base to blow em up. Why would you give someone a heavy and expensive training to do something you could let your ordinary forces do.
If there were communications targets i could agree, but not how you say it now. If they are behind enemy lines they would like to avoid enemy detection i would think.
In a real war they would take out airfields with bombardements too, i don t think that would be apreciated in game.

actully in ww2 in north africa SAS put c4 or some sort of explosive on planes when they raided the german airfields, do u think the germans were like "omg spawn campzors!!!"
and ill say again , its "war" anything goes .

Anything that is allowed according the Geneva convention should be allowed in PR....as it applies of course.

LMAO
Geneva convention doesnt say anything about smacktards and noobs, does it?

Nope, so smacktards and noobs should not be allowed....
Although it will be argued that since smacktards and noobs are not specifically addressed and there are no guidelines against them, its ok to be a smacktard or a noob.
Let me also express my opinion that if those who actually caused wars in the real world were to play PR, they'd be branded smacktards, noobs, asshat....etc...etc....LOL.
Hitler was definately a smacktard. I would have like to see him kicked from the server.

I remember once I was flying a jet and got shot down behind enemy lines Jesus I felt like I was in a movie all I had was a pistol so I made it to the enemies base my first kill I believe was a squad leader took his kit and took to the hills behind there base to figure out my next move by luck my next kill was an engineer you can guess the rest of the story the moral is if you can some how survive I think it should be fair game . That also was one of the top ten moments playing this mod I cant tell you how fast my heart was beating trying to stay alive knowing the other team knew I was there and were hunting me down , It started with one and by the time my rampage was over it had grew to more than ten awesome time even though you could say I was lone gunning it .

Yeah. Operating behind enemy lines is always going to be part of war weather intentionally or due to an unfortunate incident. It should not be restricted.

That just sounds hilarious when removed from context, reason for which I shall sig it.
Anyway, I still think it's a thin line between spawn rape and sabotaging.
One is contributing to the overall effort in a (fairly) realistic way, and the other is just racking up kills by exploiting the other team's unweariness and limited ability to maneuver given by spawning in an small area known by the enemy, which is unrealistic.
Some sort of limit imposed upon any anyone entering an uncapturable enemy base would fix thing though it might make it too complicated. As long as the enemy just places C4 and mines without shooting someone that hasn't seen them yet, I won't get pissed at them, since it's our fault for not paying attention.

If you get behind the lines on Kashan then you earned the right to blow some stuff up.
The new maps are rather large and that alone will discourage many from trying to get behind the lines.

I regret i dont post much or check the forums, I do play alot though. but i came to see what everyone else thought of these sabotage acts and as I call them "black ops". I tend to do this all the time now when I'm bored of flag taking or squad play. In the past 2 weeks or so I've come under constant critisicm from server admins about "sneaking" into main bases etc, I will say laying land mines under vehicles is dirty, but it's war and this is supposed to be reality, right?
I think besides elimating key targets inside enemy headquarters(helos, jets, tanks, trucks) , destroying bridges and controlling key bottle neck positions throughout the map(I love to control the bridges on Sunset City) can completely turn the tide of battle. If you've ever had to face a decent tanker or apc driver/gunner on open maps, such as EJOD, you know they can destroy you easily if they keep their distance. THus, controlling these bottle necks and destroying key enemy assests, AT and AWAY from their main base is just as vital as capturing and defending flags. If you've ever had to fight armor enemy assests, wondering "where the F is our armor?!" you know what I mean. I just hope admins and players alike quit disapproving of covert ops such as these. Commanders who have squads that will attack and defend are vital, but when you have a squad or 2 that will do what you ask when you ask, special purpose squads, you can do anything.
just my .02
sorry if my post is hard to understand, im at work and writing with haste =P
see ya on the field.
edit: also wondering what people thought of this idea, do you think it would be good/bad/horrible if spec forces class could penetrate the map boundries without reprecutions? just thought it would be more reality. thanx
