Squad Leaders and Commanders, don't forget to be in a bit early, so you have a chance to discuss the plan of action in the "planning" channel. Plus, please set up "whisper mode" in TS, so you can talk to the other SL's as well, even if they're in a different channel.

No, that's not it.

Check "settings > key settings". Then add a key to use for "whisper mode" and add the squad leaders to the player list. Then, by pressing that key, you can talk to those players, without having to be in the same channel. Squad leaders and commander should use the whisper mode.
