Thanks BloodBane and Johny, never thought that it took this much time an effort into making a break map and puts a new respect in my mind for all the devs and mappers....
I totally agree with you Johny about the main road through city and I am working on extending it as a major road through the dessert and into other areas of the outskirts and villages of Karbala. I will let you know Johny and BloodBane if you guys want, when I am ready to test over LAN for glitches etc.... if you guys wanna hop on and help test along with a few others, I can use all the input and help I can get...

looks good, but could look a bit tighter if you know what i mean, compared to al bashra, there is still to much empty space, look at ejod and bashra and just try to get their feeling

well, i kinda like the way albasrah looks, so i dont really think that's a negative. good inner-city fighting will be fun.
those big roads just scream "heavy armor".
Please. can i tanks in city now have? please?
=)

FYI.. Only main roads have white stripes, I'v been to Baghdad, only the really big roads had white stripes, don't challenge experience over google because experience always wins
BTW, I like the map in general, has a nice feel, but don't put to many houses on fire.. I mean.. they don't catch fire by themselves, and unless the marines/insurgents are throwing molotovs everywhere theres really no need to have 2 houses on every block on fire, <-- constructive critisicm
P.S. Dude, I don't mean any disrespect to you (From my last post), stop being negative, im trying to give you some of my experience from Iraq to make this map better then it already is.
Ty.

That is pretty much the main reason I made the roads in this part of the city wider is so that armor (yes there will be armor) can manuever and patrol the streets while the apaches take care of the extremely closed in part of the city (the area I first bulit for map) Also the wider roads make for more dangerous crossing of streets for infantry which increases the importance of tanks. About 80% of the buildings on the wider stretch area are either enterable or rooftop capable, which I think will make for awesome street battles and make tank and Apache protection a must. US sniper placement will become very important in this part of city, so those sniper whores will finally have a reason to celebrate and not be hated anymore
BabaGurGur, ps... I have been to Baghdad too, although I think our visits were on two different levels

I do agree that only main roads have stripes, and that is why only my main road through city has stripes except for two roads leading from us main and only put those there because I am thinking of it as a main roadway from city to the busy market/mosques area. I also have only four buldings on fire for the entire map, so thats pretty realistic, I am trying to simulate bombed out streets and buildings in the middle of battle, so that is the reason for buildings on fire... Thanks for input guys....

Man you're working fast on this one! Awesome stuff mate! Looking great! If you want to hook up on TS and get this going on hamatchi at some point I can take a look around it with you, discuss different areas, give some feedback etc. Fantastic work!

Overall looking good. I would try to make the edges of the city not that squarey. Put some buildings or change the terrain/vegetation so you can't see that straight line of buildings. Keep it up.

I see what you mean dbzao... I will add veg around the city to break up the squareyness and maybe shift some buildings around too... Thanks man
