Hey, I just saw the front page, starting download now.
Oh, it's already done, I love ultra fast internet. It's a shame I can't play until tomorrow... hmm, maybe if I skip school ?
Edit: Now that it use "pr.exe" does that mean that it will be labelled as project reality on xFire ?

Guys, as always, if you are having ctd issues then do the usual stuff, like
1) delete your Battlefield2 folder (XP users it is at Start/My Documents) and then start the game up and reset up all your caches.
2) reset your machine, could be a PB issue requiring a reset
3) Check shortcut has the widescreen string on the end of it if you use a widescreen monitor, you might have forgotten to copy it from the old shortcut.
4) You joined a server that hadn't been updated, hopefully all server admins will put 0.75 in their server name when they update!
Note : I arranged the auto release of the game files yesterday at 1800hrs GMT. Due to a little problem with release timing this meant that I watched a few people find the files by browsing filefront. Unfortunately someone came and told the community (this thread starter) and we almost had to call the paramedics out to those suffering fluttering hearts and indigestion.
In future, please do not download any file (especially .exe files) that haven't been officially posted here as part of the news release to avoid the possibility of you getting fake files and therefore viruses ruining your install or nicking your identity/banking details. This is for your own safety! Adopt that practise in whatever communities you are.

Quick download ( battlefield-basis always quickest for me in UK ) no probs installing and running for me on vista 32.
You only need to install the patch. Clear the cache under My documents, remove and reinstall the pb files. I also deleted and then readded bf2 and pb to my firewall list.
I then set to run as administrator and to run under xp compatability mode.
OMG - it ran first time!
Main problem now is not many servers have been updated

The patch, patches v0.708 to v0.756 and is 280megs size
Only users with builds of PR below v0.708 really need to remove their existing builds before installing the Core and Levels downloads of the full player side v0.75 build.

i have a problem with this menu that comes up when i start playing PR that says: "WARNING" in red letters and it says how i have to run PR.exe to play Project Reality, not BF2.exe, even though i clicked on the PR icon. This started after I installed 0.75 and restarted my computer...

Why did you replace the AA gun systems with stationary stingers vBF2-style? How are we supposed to take down light choppers since we can't lock on to them with the stingers?

Im sure I read somewhere ( not in change log ) that you can lock on them now and that they have flares as well.

Right-click on the shortcut.
In the Path line you should have something like:
Code: Select all
"WHATEVER\Battlefield 2\bf2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
Change it to:
Code: Select all
"WHATEVER\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Ah, thank you for the info, guys. For some stupid reason I havn't read the changelog yet. I've been all to eager to checkout the new Huey and ironsights. Really nice to see that the Devs have done something about the horrible AK-sights of vBF2!

I have to say awesome, just awesome.
Just got done with my first few rounds, and I was pleasantly surprised.
I was worried about the suppression being overdone, but it is perfectly balanced by the increased weapons damage. Overall just an awesome patch!
