Oh and people! Please do help if you're interested! Take a look at the Design Plan and PM me if you want to do something. People I ask to do something are PM'ed
Also, I don't think it's a scout

More like a demolitions man

I like the idea with the "guerilla" kit. Fact is that the FARDC works together with a number of irregular forces.
Making the kit a "demolitions expert" is imo kinda weird, though. Will the maps featuring this faction really have that much heavy vehicles that a kit like that will be useful? C4s for the mechanic and spec ops will be enough, really. Make him a kind of lightly armed scout focusing on anti-infantry guerrilla tactics instead. What about claymores or other kind of AP-traps? Would be very useful in the jungle.

Also again I'd recommend not using AK74 as main weapon, and coming up with something original, perhaps a sudden discovery in Congo discovered a vast reserve of oil & the government took control of it to fund its new army upgrade program to use HK417??
No. Unlike the MEC this is not a fictional army. That's why we have to stick to reality instead of making up some bullshit just because people are tired of the AKs.

Well we were looking for a replacement for Rifleman AB/Rifleman. So we just came up with this. He's a kind of Ambusher, just have to look for a proper name..

Yeah, just wanted you to know that African guerillas normally don't focus on anti-vehicle combat like this guy obviosly does. Will AT-mines and C4 be useful on a jungle map without heavy vehicles?

you should seriously consider claymores

Manually detonated claymores (i.e not tripwires) with a 20m detonator wire instead of C4 would be nice. Used a lot in the jungle and a good kickstart to any decent ambush
Also make sections of thick brush that are VERY noisy to run through, and have lots of paths that you make very little noise on. So either you run through the jungle making a lot of noise, or take the paths and risk being ambushed. A middle ground could be you make very little noise in the thick bushes if you move in ironsights. We want whole squads creeping around to stay quiet with sudden engagements at 15m or less. Lots of shotguns too please!!
Also think you should consider making a tracker\scout class. Remember at close view distances camoflage even works in bf2, so having a well camoflaged guy to scout at the front of a patrol would actually work for once....
Sorry just spewing ideas out here, but you cant have jungle maps without lots of creeping about and rustling foliage and then bang!! All hell breaks loose!!
EDIT: Ah great minds think alike Arjan\NickBond!

What about machetes?

Not that they would be very different from the regular knives gameplay-wise...
Btw, what about AP-mines without the need of remote detonation? I'm thinking about something like the Valmara 69. I understand that they are used quite often by African guerrilla troops (although I don't know which one is the most common). Maybe one of these mines aside the remote-detonated Claymores instead of the AT-mine? The guerrilla soldier will then focus entirely on anti-infantry combat, as it should be.
Btw, I love Mescaldravs idea about players being more noisy when walking through the bushes in the jungle. Would show players what jungle warfare is all about and add a lot to the atmosphere.

Without heavy vehicles?? Type 59 for Congo (Main battle tank), BMP-1 (IFV). vs. Warriors/LAVs/Scimitars/etc.
Not every map will have these vehicles though. We'll consider claymores.

Maybe not AT mines but who says that a C-4 ambush won't be fun...

Alright. Tripflares + Remote Controlled Claymores + AT Mines for Guerilla, Engi will get C4 back.

But the majority of the maps will still feature mainly dense jungle, right? Tanks won't be that useful in that kind of terrain. Guerrillas should therefore focus on hunting down the enemy infantry.

Beautiful. Will hopefully turn out nicely.

speak to AIX to see if you could possible learn how to code/use their claymores ( the flare ones )

How are their claymores used? PR has claymores in their weapon files, just not sure how they are detonated. Will test.

their claymores are used nilla style, but tis the effects they give off ( the flare clamore ) it sounds a siren and pops flares into the sky but doesn't kill anyone
