Question: If I'm not getting any kind of PB errors, could it still be a PB issue? All that happens is a few minutes after starting a game it freezes and I get DC'd to server list.

It usually gives you some kind of message telling you that you were disconnected from the server. What does the message say?

Just a little FYI for this,
Check Punkbuster B is set to auto re-start.

->Open your Control Panel -> Go to Administrative Services -> Click on Services while PR is running.
->Select Punkbuster B, right click, select properties -> select the recovery tab and make sure they all say "Restart the service" for all three dropdowns.
->You can do the same for PB A, but majority of times, it's the B client that stops responding.
** Any time you update PB, you may need to re-do this step.
While attempting to do this, I noticed that PunkBusterB does not start when PR Starts as seen when I opended the service list. As PunkBusterB has not started when I first try to join a server, this may be the reason I get "your connection to the server has been lost" the first time I try to join a server.

After this happend I checked the services tab, PunkBusterB is now showing up and I can now connect to a server. Coincidence? (Just thought I might post this in case it sheds any light onto why we can't connect the first time).

Edit: Also doing this resulted in about 5 hours of gametime before kicked by Punkbuster for key packet loss (issue still exists).

'Cpt.Darling[BG wrote:;1728150']i find the dbghelp and delete it,and download the new dll from the web site you give,im gonna try now and see what gonna happen....im gonna edit my post later, and tell you if there any change.
SOLVED....this is strange but my problem was mumble 1.0, i watch all unninstall in mumble i and saw the dbghelp.dll disaappear, in uninstaling(directory on mumble folders and files was in D:\Games\Battlefield2 ) same direction as game, after uninstall mumble dbghelp.dll was automaticly removed, instaled mumble in other directory than game and problem was solved, played 3 hours without problem, thats my solution for md5tool mismatch: dbghelp.dll (len=2048 )
so if any have instaled mumble in battlefield2 directory uninstall the mumble from there and set it in other direction.
Solved for me I had put Mumble in my EAGames folder, removed it put it somewhere else no more dbghelp.dll MD5 mismatch kicks.

Solved for a few days.

This problem started after doing a fresh re install of my whole computer and going from Vista to 7.

I have now reinstalled PR, I played a bit of VBF to heck that didn't bring a PB kick and it doesn't.

EDIT/ After reinstalling PR still getting this PB kick.

Any ideas, is it likely to be graphics related as I'm runnning much hihger gfx settings then before?

It just says "Your connection to the server has been lost". I'm going to try the solution above with setting PB to restart itself in the services list. I have a good feeling about this one! =P

It sounds like a router/connection issue then. Search the forums for kicks relating to routers.

Hi!
I'am having a problem with punkbuster always kicking me.
Message:
PunkBuster kicked player '[PRTA] farna' (for 2 minutes)... MD5TOOL Mismatch.
mods\bf2\ClientArchives.con (len=306)

Happens to me randomly in a round on random server.
But always happening at some point. Except once when I could play for hours, after I played around with the "PnkBstr" files. To bad I cant make it work again...

I've read almost every post on this forum regarding PB-kicks but cant find anything about this ClientArchive.con file. I have tried solutions for similar problems.

Solutions I have tried:
  • Allow all involved files in firewall (including PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe)
  • Turn off firewall
  • Open ports on computer and router
  • Make sure PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe are started and are set to "restart".
  • Updated punkbuster (ran both pbsetup.exe and pbsvc.exe)
  • Reinstall game (both bf2 and PR, at least 4 times)
  • With and without soundmod
  • Installed on different hard drives (now installed on SSD)
  • Replaced the file with the one from "mods\pr"
The only clue I got is if it could be some problems with my graphics card (GeForce GTX660) ... I had the same problems on my old computer and when i bought a new one, I moved the graphics card to the new one. Still sounds a bit weird in my ears, but its all i can think of.

Any ideas?

Have you tried getting a copy of the file from a buddy from PRTA?

It's a really small text file, I'm not sure why it would repeatedly cause a problem.

Thanks for fast reply. Ok, will try that.

EDIT:
Looks like there is a difference between the files:

My ClientArchive.con
fileManager.mountArchive Objects_client.zip Objects
fileManager.mountArchive Common_client.zip Common
fileManager.mountArchive Menu_client.zip Menu
fileManager.mountArchive Fonts_client.zip Fonts
fileManager.mountArchive Shaders_client.zip Shaders

File from friend:
fileManager.mountArchive Objects_client.zip Objects
fileManager.mountArchive Common_client.zip Common
fileManager.mountArchive Menu_client.zip Menu
fileManager.mountArchive Fonts_client.zip Fonts
fileManager.mountArchive Shaders_client.zip Shaders
fileManager.mountArchive Booster_client.zip Objects

Will try now, hope it works! :-)

Thanks alot!
Got that file and PB is not kicking me for it anymore.

But it now kicks me for other files so i will just copy them all over. Must have been an error when i was applying the 1.5 patch. I did have problem with not being able to update because of: "Newer Version Already Installed". But that one I fixed with this: [Mini-Tut] How to fix "Newer Version Already Installed" (Page 1) - Support - Sandbox Forums

Maybe all files didn't copy over after that fix?
Anyway, I am much closer a solution to the problem!

Happen to remember the source of your 1.5 patch files download?
Did you repeatedly use that same 1.5 patch download to reinstall PR?

Glad to see you got this sorted quickly. regards,

Hmm.. Cant remember, had this file for many years and what I can remember I have used it before on other computers without issues.

Yepp, and had to use the "newer version fix" every time.

Iam gonna download a diffrent 1.5 patch file next time before I reinstall. Just in case ;-)
