What rifle are you talking about?
The Norwegian Marinejegerkommandoen and Forsvarets Spesialkommando are both using the L115A1, if that's what you're implying.

Anyway, my map needs to be added in the google docs, its about 10 % done.

I'll update the shit so quick as I can, just have to fix some stuff. And the desert cammo is finished, but its only the ISAF desert camo.

Those seeng use these days? Can't remember seeing any TMBN guys with them, but I have seen pics of NORSOF with them on their short-barreled 416s. Only problem is, they can't actually be used in-game, so there's not really all that much point in having them on.

just as a footnote to that article, I would like to mention the fact that a M82A1 (12,7mm rifle) was used during the firefight. That should put an end to the M82-discussion on the NF-forum.

And I would like to mention the fact that an HK417 was also used during the firefight, same picture.

that its beeing used had never been the question, the question has always been, if it makes sense to use it in PR and my answer to this question keeps being NO

The US Army and USMC also uses M82's during fire fights, but they aren't in PR either. Hmmm, not such a valid argument you brought up there, eh?

as I said to Pleym, get ingame then worry about special details...

prioritise your workload so that you can get this faction playable and of PR standard, then quibble about which maps use what ratio of AG3s and HKetc, the sniper rifle is causing consternation, so just use a placeholder for now.

Getting this faction up and ingame should be your priority imo, not effectively making 2 norwegian teams with differing loadouts.

actually, the discussion between the DEVs and Pleym, has been about IF it was used or not by the Norwegian military. As Rhino once said: (cannot find the post on public forums, and will therefore not quote) If the M82A1 is used by a real army - as anti-infantry, there should be no scruples using it.

Besides, I don't think you have read and understood how NF actually intend to use the M82.
I will make sure Pleym gives the info and specs.

As far as I am concerned, the statement stand one's ground. If it is used RL, there shouldn't be any problem using it ingame, as long as BF2-physics allows it.

The Norwegian sniper/sharpshooter:


Rifle: M82A1 (12,7 MØR)
Caliber: 12,7 x 99 mm Nato
Magazine size: 10
Fire action: Semi-Automatic

The M82 is used by the Norwegian Army by the "sharpshooters" the Norwegian army doesn't use the titles "marksman" and "sniper". The riffle is used to take rid of enemies from distance and it works fine against personnel in armored cars helicopters.
The rifle will use normal "non" explosive ammo. That means that the M82 wont be effective against the vehicle it self, but the enemies behind the "bulletproof" glass.

The riffle is an Anti-material rifle if it use the MP rounds. But in this case Norway use it as a Anti-personal rifle with normal 50. cal rounds.

You wont get time to kill a vehicle cause of the recoil and the reloading time. A car need 30 bullets to get destroyed by a normal mounted automatic 50. cal on a car or some thing. The M82 can only deliver 30 shots per min if you keep it steady etc.

The rifle is used by the: Engineer battalion, Armour battalion, many of the 18 Home guard districts, etc.

Caliber: 7,62 × 51 mm Nato
Magazine size: 10 or 20
Fire action: Semi-Automatic, Burst?

One of the new weapons that have entered the Norwegian Army, it will and have replaced most of the old weapons, like: MSG-90, NM 419. etc.
Its a semi automatic weapon like the M82A1.
This is mostly used by the Norwegian Forces in Afghanistan together with the M82A1.


Bot of the Rifles have got a place in The Norwegian Army kit plan, you can find it on post number 1.
The M82A1 have been longer in the system than the Hk 417, so it will be a shame to not use it.
And since the Norwegian Forces in Afghanistan have more of the new stuff they have got it. You will see that in the kit plan.
