That's the bloody worst. You go "Hey I'll play it safe and save now before it crashes" and BAM. It crashes

I have to say I much preferred your old sky :p

I think a small edit to it would have been best :)

I agree with Rhino.

I also liked your previous sky; the one in your sig that is.

I prefer this new sky, I mean.. your old sky looked as if it were sometime approaching dusk and we all know that it's only a small real world window that lighting conditions remain that way.

i have to say the old sky looked too English or European in australia and even more so outback/dry bush areas it barely rains at all and you rarely get to see a cloud in the sky so i much prefer the new sky

that is all

New sky suits Australia more. For shizzle.

Two tips:

1) NEVER make/save undergrowth changes at the same time as anything else. Save everything else first, and save it before you make any undergrowth changes. This is a huge source of crashing with the editor, even if you've got a lot of memory.

2) Save AND backup after every change you make i.e. you put in a ditch, save it, back it up, you put down some overgrowth, save it, back it up. I use a date/info system for my backups. Here's some examples:

08 07 09 san basics all done in very bottom fields ready for detail

30 06 09 san pre reduce ditch size

03 07 09 san pre mountain changes

Like most of us, I've had to learn the hard way too, often loosing hours and hours of work :( This system has really helped me to minimise work loss.

I like the new sky btw, looks good, still some tweaking that could be done but you can do that towards the end. Map's looking great so far, keep it up! I can see some potential for Rhino's og field technique being used here too, which is cool 8)

That picture could have being taken almost anywhere. Australia has being stuck by a number of long term droughts in the last 10 years. Hell I've seen farm land like that less than a hour out of Brisbane.

They're static fields, so hopefully they'll give a little concealment
