Because they're not fun. They aren't good at anything. They're bad at everything.
Their playstyle is boring, and reactive, only they are slower to react than opposing force.
There is nothing interesting about this faction at all - they are now just a conventional army with bad weapons and a bit more explosives that are for the most part hard to use and easy for the US to totally counter.

tried hiding the IED inside objects on the road like rocks etc, or putting them on walls? good fun!

I think you have hit the nail on the head!
And in fact I don't think this 'poll' is split 50/50 it's only
just reiterated that there are a couple of bugs that need to be ironed
out (mostly around AK-47 sights and accuracy)
BTW I have on a few occasions emptied a whole magazine (in game) and not
hit a thing! Usually when panicked or taken by surprise.
I would conclude that Insurgency is a fun format, and requires
just as much thought about tactics (if not more) as any other
of the modes.
It's just some people don't like the more challenging style of gameplay.
Now what's the name of that alternative game???
*Edit* Ok Ok Perhaps emtying the 'clip' (onto the floor) was never going to prove effective

Magazine

Clip is the little metal strip insurgents use to load the rifle.
And I do agree! It does require more thought than a regular game because of the other way of spawning screw-ups are harder to fix.

I never get the people who only want to be US or the Brits..
There is nothing like variety... playing as an insurgent is a blast, using different gameplay and tactics. I do agree it used to be more fun in previous builds.. but it was also pretty stupid and very unrealistic.. and needed changing. The correct balance is not far away.
For me its all about variety. The more the merrier. PR would be less of a game without insurgency mode.

Its the most realistic game mode there is and therefore is absolutely deserving of its place in PR

Not sure why you are quoting me and giving that answer?.. How are the two connected.
It is a realistic game mode.. but the early versions were played in anything but a realistic fashion. Not sure if you played Basrah in 0.4 or 0.5. Great fun.. but not realistic.

0.5 Basrah felt more like the US has just invaded, instead of already being there and fighting a guerrilla war.

Yeah soz didnt really mean to quote you b4.
I didnt play it b4 but i love how realistic it is now and if you get a good bunch of players on the insurgent side it can be a blast playing as either BLUFOR or INS.
Theres nothing quite like the fear as a US/UK infantryman, being pinned down by a skilled insurgent team that seems to be attacking from all directions.

Please get rid of the civi 2 minute spawn

I get shot all the time, even when I am outside line of fires, not in a battle.. People can't be bothered to knife anymore, and the civi was great
fun in .75

I for one love insurgent mode, and I will love playing as an insurgent more once all of the bugs get worked out. I think the aysymetrical, non-linear style of gameplay is a welcome change of pace from AAS. It's frustrating to play as an insurgent sometimes, but you just have to get it out of your head that you can't take coalition forces head on and expect to live through it. Use your head.
I also just love the sound of the AK in this game. It's so...satisfiying. One of the best sound effects to date.
