Yes, I think the same thing, A new version will be soon, we'll make a close test (ARG server) this Sunday (30-8-09).

Just make it late night but when your eyes have adjusted, so you can see shapes quite clearly but not colour etc. or is this impossible?

Okey so one thing has bugged me in every al basrah night version ever...
The street lights work?!
I mean Iraq haven't had proper electricity distribution in like what? 3 years or more?
I can understsand if its really vital for gameplay... But for a realism POV street light shouldn't work...
You could have light on some shops and stores cause generators are widely used down there...
But street light are higly unrealistic.

iirc electricity outtages affected local areas, e.g. areas of a city affected by a particular substation.
I remembe reading an article by a Woman in Baghdad talking about internet cafes etc in the student areas still operating while other parts of the city had no water or electricity.
So Perhaps have 1 road with glows on the streetlights and the rest without

u can add light posts in the city for lights and the british vehicles have lights to so do the insuregent vehicles

I support this project 100%, Al Basrah @ night must be awesomeness being british/insurgents. But when you're playing as a british soldier the vechiles also need NV. Is that possible? If so - Awesome! Insurgents = total ambush at night!

Refering on the BF2:SF NV system (the one we're using, right?), there's NV for vehicles and soldiers alright. The one in Choppers is black and white... But trust me, it sucked using NV ina chopper with BF2 viewdistances.. damn
Still hoping to see this map being released someday.

The one in Choppers is black and white
its green if you want it to be, there are 3 seperate .con files for NVGs
nvgs - what most peeps use
helicopter - the aircraft
commander - the commander's view (what the UAV will see

)
I just copied the nvg code to in to the helicopter and commander .con files and viola! they are now all green and the same.
You can make it so only one side can spawn with NVGs...but I think its more complicated than that. You just change the spawners in the init.con

Night Vision doesnt work.
I tried adding the NVG to the specialists only in my map and when u pressed 7 in game nothing happened. i then read on here thsat night vision is broken.
IF NVG gets fixed, this wouold be a great map. feel sorry for the insurgents tho and would maybe need a team ratio to help em out.

Dunem you need to add the night code to the init.con and info .desc file
this causes the night shaders to be loaded which turns on the NVG capabilities
but its all FUBAR because its BF2, you need to use the BF2SF.exe for it to work.
and also there are new bugs with the latest nvidia cards

no, sorry , there are a shaders problems when the nightmap is on, NVG needs nightmap on.
