Hey Folks,

A few =]H[= members are reporting similar problems:

I started mumble and then attempted to join game server. Screen would freeze at squad screen and require “Hard” re-boot. Tried this 6 times; 3 different servers (all =]H[= Chicago servers).

Then I tried joining the game server first, then starting mumble. I was able to get into game, but I don’t know if mumble worked because no one else was in server.

Tried switching servers, froze at squad screen. Hard re-start.

Then the real unfortunate thing:
After re-boot I couldn’t join any game servers…even if mumble was never started.
Uninstalled mumble from the computer…no reboot…was able to join game servers.

So right now no mumble for me... :-(

No overlay enabled. No Vent. No Fraps. No CC. Just PR .86 and Mumble .5 beta
Win XP Pro SP 3
4GB RAM X9650 (quad)
PR .86

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Walker

Make sure you dont have QWAVE running. You might if you are on an XP media edition.

love mumble

but of recent it seems to be crashing sometimes, at first i thought i related it to a person being kicked whilst talking, but i dont think thats causing it.

when playing PR i have xfire, 0.86 and mumble, with 4gb RAM and AMD 4600+ processor

any ideas on why recently (like past 3 days) i've suffered crashes, wheres as before now 0.5 has been stable

Well you have to look at whats changed over the past few days ... and there you will likely have your culprit. Mumble hasnt changed .... nor has PR (and I assume your computer is the same). On the other hand X-Fire has just had a huge update ;)

I tend to get quite a few problems with X-Fire and other VOIP programs, I usually have to close X-Fire down. But then others get no problems at all. It might be something to do with the way that both mumble and X-fire like to reach into the game window ... possibly try it with overlay off and see if it crashes ?

I have the same running all the time and I've had no problems - I also know that many other people are running the same programs at once without problems - it sounds like its a problem at your end.

QUESTION

I cannot remember

Can multiple users be selected at the same time and muted via the right click option all at the same time?

really looking forward to the next version of mumble now that certain servers have gone 100% mumble at last.

@Dr2B Rudd - thanks for your response:
I was using realtec as input and SBAudigy as output
One other was using realtec for both input and output
Don't know what the other two have

@Twisted Helix (aren't they all heheh), thanks for the tip. No QWAVE.

I had been running a previous version of mumble and was able to play with no freezes.
The install of .5 went flawlessly.
After I uninstalled .5, I ran ccleaner. It found some mumble related stuff. I'll try a reinstall today and report back.

Btw, I was wrong, you can't select more than one user at a time to mute.

I wonder if a mute channel button can be implemented. THat would stop spam in its tracks, all it would need is an admin.

Big thanks go out to Twisted Helix, Epoch and the Mumble devs who have been working hard to get this out as quickly as possible for you guys.
when i try to connect to the PR official mubmle server, i get this:
"Server connection failed: Connection refused."

i cant connect.

Just installed mumble, then read this thread. Am I wrong, or is there two versions of mumble, one vanilla, and one for PR?

Sounds like ur firewall is blocking it. Access your firewall software and add mumble as an exception.
