I use knives and bayonets. I use them to clear tight buildings, I always win close combat if enemy just tries to spread bullets everywhere.

There's somet hings that could be used in place of the knife.
But we would need a substitute for taking down FOB's

As well as knifing FoBs and RPs the knife is decent in CQC. If you jump out as someone with the knife rather than gambling with the deviation on your gun you will generally win.

i always have a knife on me, but i wont ever use it to kill somone, lets face it, if you rely on you're knife in a real combat situation, you're in deepshit. Knife are used as tool, and dont throw me any bayonet course video in the face. Do you ever done a bayonet course ? I do, and beleive me, you're exhausted after an hour, so, i clearly not imagine myself, putting my bayonets on, rushing to an enemy thats is currently firing at me, and then stab him with the barrel of my gun, remove and do it again and again, since people dont die instantly when you stab them. In insurgency ok yeah it might work, in a full scale conflict ? LOL! If you ever breach my strike face level 5 with you're knife, then you deserve to kill me. Anyway since FUN > Realism, i guess we will keep it. How and BTW, thermite grenade destroy FOB way better than knife. And if you rely on you're knife cause you're out of ammo, then you dont play PR the way its intended to be played.

When you run out of ammunition, your the last one around for hundreds of meters, and you need to kill someone to take their weapon, then you don't have a Bayonet. What would you do then?

How often do people run out of ammo completely? I'm not saying the knife should be removed, but this whole "last resort if you run out of ammo!" is ridiculous, if you're not smart enough to get resupplied, then you should be allowed to bleed out from stupidity.

If they could combine the knife and shovel into one tool... I see promise.

Keep the knives, its a last ditch weapon when you are out of ammo, or u have to reload when the enemy is there.
I do like the other options that other factions have, i.e. the use of the butt of the weapon, the bayonet, or the arrest option.

Lets turn PR into AA 2.0 where you would have people do reload fights.

Is it possible to attach the knife/bayonet to the main weapon slot (3) so that when you repeatedly press the button (3) it cycles between firing modes and knife (1 > 3/A > knife > 1)?

Make me think of Combat Arms, and in a good way. Im sure some animation that could double as building/digging and stabbing/killing could be made
I my knife on FB's and sometimes against people when im doing 1337 spec ops buisness. Not to toot my own horn but the other day i knifed 2 spotters, an HMG, and a TOW

I agree. Portable fastropes would be a better adition. Use it to suffocate people as well, so it doubles as a knife.

Knifes, yes, they're useful, but bayonets should really be removed, IRL you would have it mounted and you could shoot which isnt possible in BF2 engine, but you would never put the bayonet on the rifle if you are behind someone and want to knife him, you would just use the knife
