I was thinkin about that before I got to this topic. It should take a few seconds to place C4, no throwing, if you just throw it it does absolutley nothing. IRL I believe you use C4 by actualy putting it inside the target, because it blows up outwars, so by doing so it would blow up the targets when it expanded. If you just threw it on the floor in weapons bunkers, it wouldnt do anything. A longer amount of time, maybe 5-10 seconds, would simulate properly placing the C4, hence it would do its true damage.

Precisely. If it takes a while to place C4, it means that we can make it extra powerful. We could also do little tricks such as putting them on support beams and such and making ambushes for passing vehicles or infantry.

we could place it above doorframes and the such, then people walking into a room couldnt see it

I, for one, would like to see some Special Forces Operators issued with door breaching charges.

The ones that I'm thinking of are different. I'm not sure of their correct designation.

you stick them on adoor and then step nback a little and they blow the door to pieces and people on the other side of the door can get killed or stunner

Detchord or Primachord? That's the mainstay use ones.
Gas masks

I think it would be great if some soldiers had to wear those lovely gas masks. You could even have on the screen just two eyeholes to look through, not only is this idea easy to do it will add an extra bit of fun to gameplay. Nothing better than having hot sticky rubber claustrophobically clinging to your face then eh!!! Oh just me then...

Yeah, I think that'd be a neat feature too.

we could have engineers able to carry it, and maybe spec ops, then they could go through otherwise lethal areas

All soldiers carry gasmasks, however, the difference here could be the survivability. Pilots and specially equipped soldiers such as specops could travel in special vehicles that allow them to pass through NBC environments. This is another situation where the "certain classes entering vehicles changes them" feature is useful.

indeed, and going through NBC environments, could we disable the turret ontop?

by Dr.Spangle
Which turret are you referring to?
Posted: 2004-08-04 05:35
by DrZero
its not really a turret, but the thing they sit on to use the gun ontop

Oh, you mean the coupola. Yeah, I suppose so. We could just have the hatch jammed shut.

what are devs going to do with the commander thing ? that isnt realistic if commander can "see" the battlefield ?
Posted: 2004-08-06 05:17
by Dr.Spangle
That's not really true. The commander will be provided with a map of the battlefield, and as far as we know, the commander can't see enemy units unless people report them, by seeing them.

nobody really knows how it going to even work ?
