Howdy! I have a suggestion. I know that you are planning to include the Barrett M82 rifle in the Norwegian Armys weaponry. This rifle has been a subject of controversy in Norway, because it has been used against personnel. Though the Norwegian defence minister and several other high ranking officers in the Norwegian Army has said that it is not meant for use againt people, only "hard" or "semi-hard" targets.
What if there's a penalty for using the M82 against people in the game, just like there's a penalty for shooting civillians?

First of all my friend dont listen to every thing thats written in VG.. The ingame M82A1 will be used against infantery like they do in Afghanistan and other places if needed.. The army have crated an research rapport about the MP ammo that you can read here:
http://www.mil.no/multimedia/archive/00036/Virkningen_av_12_7mm_36061a.pdf
the main part is written in english...

multi-pupose
I also gave that out, but I think KP proved me wrong multipourpose ammo is not regular 50 cal ammo.
Raufoss Mk 211 as its name have a fuse that creates an exlpoding and incendiary effect a normal 50 cal bullet has no such effect, on the thing you linked to VG I can copy and past what Forsvaret found out:
Trials conducted by Forsvarets Forskningsinstitutt[2] (Norwegian Defence Research Establishment) has concluded that the ammunition most likely does not have an unlawful effect if unintentionally used against personnel, as the round will have penetrated the body and exited on the other side before the fuze of the weapon triggers the incendiary and explosive components of the round. Hitting a person the round will detonate about 50% of the time; if the target is wearing body armor a higher detonation frequency is to be expected (as shown by the ICRC tests[3] carried out in 1999)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raufoss_Mk_211
Its wikipedia, but its refering to an actual trial by the Norwegian defense research establishment.

the fact is that the norwegian army is looking into a lot of new helmets to replace the old one(as tthis helemt is har to mount things on and do not offer complete protection... oh and is really heavy), and will eventually decide wich one to buy... or they will continue as they do now, buying different helmets and randomly giving them out to norwegian troops in afghanistan while the soldiers back in norway will keep their current helmet
the soldiers on these pictures are from the Telemark Battalion, all of them are professional soldiers, and have better equipment and also the option of buying their own stuff, like the ACOGs
besides that, we have nobody to make new kit models, and nobody to eksport and animate them, that is why we are using kits gemoetrys allready ingame

there are several types issued right now to varius units
like the ACH/MICH 2002 Gunfighter-cut helmet, or the Kejo SF Helmet(Class 3) as used in the pictures above
none have been selected yet. atleast the afghanistan personell don't have to wear that bucket issued here now, it is heavy, it is har shooting while prone and you can't fit any equipment on it, or use radio or earprotection
they are actually considering just cutting down parts of the excisting Cato Ringstad Helmets... kind of like bying a truck and wanting a small car, deciging it would be equally functuanll cutting the truck than purchasing a Mini Cooper
but as a reprasentative for the norwegian "våpenskolen" (school of weapons(?)) said, they are more likely to make a completly new helmet, and not use pre-excisting versions:
Google Translate:
"the clue is that we must look ahead and not buy those off the shelf now, because then we buy yesterday's technology. We must buy for the future and with the goal that the helmet will protect us properly in relation to weight, but always keep in mind that the helmet will serve as a platform for other equipment.
This is not entirely easy balancing act, but I have faith that you will be satisfied with our results.
Therefore, priority, we do not spend time upgrading the current helmet for many million, but rather put everything into getting you a new helmet during the ASAP"

No, no one knows whenever a mod/game or whatever is finished, eventually it is, and hopefully they've completed it before the release date, which some might know what is, but in this case, they don't. It'll be released when it's done.

Well it's gotta be coming sometime in the not-so-distant future. Alot of their weapons were in the last couple of PR highlights and the devs say if it's in the highlights then it'll be in the game in the near future.

are you planning any fjord maps that one side will try to protect, and another side is launching an amphibious/air assault to capture the fjord?
then it would have been awesomeness i you choose Storekvalfjord in Stjernøya (Star island:razz

in Finnmark.

the terrain on the island is pretty unique, and Storekvalfjord is the largest populated area on the island.
if you think thats an good idea, or want to see pics at the place, contact me
EDIT: this wasnt really the right thread for this post

we have a map in the works for the Geiranger Fjord
other than that the general rule here is that you don't suggest map sites, you make it yourself
if you are interested there is a big section on mapping:
Modding Tutorials - Project Reality Forums
and if you wan't to make a map for the Norwegian Forces Faction, we will do our best to help you every step of the way
