If every other player in the squad has 4x optics then how is a single player (who has the support role)
a determent? Furthermore if all 8 members had a 4x scope with no BUIS that would be a pretty big issue for CQC
That's not a limitation factor, that's the entire squad not coordinating their gear load out.

I personally don't believe most players use the iron sight version of weapons when there is a superior reflex, EOtech or aimpoint available. Some people claim the iron sight version is more accurate, but I've used both and noticed no difference.

In my opinion, a medic with a scoped optic is at a disadvantage. When playing as a medic, you get killed most of the time from CQC range, and it's usually when you are not operating your weapon (Using epipens, medic bag, etc). Medics rely on teammates to cover them most of the time, in my experience most other players already do not understand how to cover other players, so it generally doesn't matter if the medic has optics or not to be unbalanced.

We don't need more Scopes, quite the contrary, we would do better with fewer scopes and more skill.

Not sure how this thread got revived.

But Canadians had magnifying optics a few patches ago and no one was crying OP about that...

I think the poll should be revised. Have an option for optics for factions that actually have them irl instead of a sweeping yes or no.

This.
I have voted "yes" only becouse German medic has scope(and a pretty decent BUIS) right now, so if Germans can have it, then the other factions(like USA) should have scopes for medics too.
Removing scope(giving him g3 with aimpoint) from the Geman medic should also be an option, but I'm affraid I'm the only one who wants that. :-P

Every conventional faction in the game has a rifleman kit with magnified optics, for exception of IDF. I don't see why the poll should be revised at all.

And nobody wants to take them away from you. The suggestion is about giving you a choice. More freedom for everyone!

Yeah, I also wouldn't want to see even more scopes for Russia.

I know this is a little OT but if people don't want to get an ALT medic kit with the G3 as a weapon why not make this G36k ironsighted, I know it will require a lot of work but it is just a suggestion

I don't think that German army is using it, maybe Special forces but not the army.

Lack of scope is the #1 reason I don't play medic more than once in a blue moon.

No scope, no nades. I'm combat ineffective whenever engaging at >100m ranges, and I'm a dead weight other than fixing the errors of my comrades. A medic should be a rifleman first and a medic second, but you can't do that in PR (unless you're German. Where it works just fine and nobody is complaining about OP medics.)

I like the idea of medics getting scopes, and I don't think it will make things imbalanced. The medic anyway has a primary role, and that is to heal his squad-members (And team-mates if he has time), and always stick together with the squad.

My thoughts, although I don't have any army experience.

Advantages:

1. With a scope, medics will be seen more as a danger and therefore more likely a target.
2. It's like in real life/looks awesome
3. Provide covering fire more easily and quickly zooming in to visually see them
4. It will encourage you to be more part of the squad.

Neutral
5. Scoped weapons take 1-2 seconds longer zooming in than iron sights, and only focuses on a specific area, unlike not looking through a scope. Can make ambushes easier for opfor.

Disadvantages:

6. Could be not balancing the game due to fear of other conventional forces not having the same gear, but as number 4 says, should balance out. Trying this change for a week or so in a future update wouldn't hurt in my case.
7. Could encourage lonewolfing, though you can't mod players, and there is no such thing as a beginner being a perfect player the first time he plays the game.

Any sources showing visually that medics have scopes?

I play medic almost exclusively and while I would like to have a >1x optic on my weapon, I would be more than thrilled to have an alternate method of magnifying my view. A 2x zoom key that restricted the use of my weapon while pressed would make me a happy camper. I just want to be able to tell who I'm looking at.

When there's one guy running through the tall grass towards me on Yamila, I accept that whether or not I'm going to die is not up to me, because I cannot determine if he's friend or foe at a longer distance. If we don't want medics sniping, fine, but I'd like to know who I'm looking at so I can at least suppress him while one of my buddies turns to help get the kill.

Scopes help especially on low graphics with lag.

In PR combat engagement is so fast and furious that basically it doesn't matter whether you have ironsight or scope as literally seconds determines whether you will win or lose it.

Germans already have Medics with scope. Why not everyone else?
