So, some might be new and say mumble mumble but in the end everyone who hears it will reply again and again...

Then I suppose myself and hundreds of other players were 'lucky' to come to know the generally accepted social workings of mumble? Actually, people got to know the system by, well, actually using it!
But the beauty of mumble, is that if you assign a single key, all your problems with having too much audio input are solved. Kids spamming mumble? press NUM 0 and he's wasting his breath.

It seems people think its more complicated than it actually is, and I too was of the view that I was happy with TS or Vent and that I didnt need this new, strange and unknown system making things harder.
It only took a video and a few seconds of friends help and Bon App?tit.

I was able to command my tank and gunner without spammage from the other two vehicle crews. Yet, I was still able to hear when the order came to form a line and rush the final ridge.

As far as i understand, that is why people "hate" mumble. But, a simple mute key and bingo ! job done.

Mumble is not perfect, but if used correctly the benefits out weight the problems.

So if i configure it to hear only in 10-50meters other can configure it to hear much far away and that's shit.

If theres no SERVERSIDE config i will not use it.
dude, are you sure you are talking about mumble here ?

In the PR mumble you can't configure the hearing distance.

I had to laugh - especially when Wicca is currently putting together the "mother of all mumble game servers"

Sorry i didn't try the PR Mumble, we had a mumble server and we used the standar mumble client.....

If you have the client and connect to PR Mumble server, can't you configure settings?

The PR MUMBLE server only accepts the Mumble PR version.

This special version has the hearing distance and other stuff wich could be used to "cheating" in game locked.

Can't we have the PR Mumble Server files instead of a channel to host or own?

I think some people are using the mumble client off some side. You gotta use the PR mumble that came with the Download of PR to experience mumble, not the client off the mumble side.

Everything is preconfigured and you only need to set up your keys and mic.

I would use Mumble far more if somehow auto-assign me to the right team.

I tried it, and it was good, however my old shite computer lags like a laggy thing at a laggy festival during laggy week while running Mumble and PR.

Dang I need a new puter ASAP! :(

Don't bother hosting your own, just join an empty channel with friends and join the same game. For some reason mumble just magically works.

It's not that hard to find your own team. Best way is to first connect to the server, skim through the players in your team and then compare it to the channel(s). Relatively easy on a populated server.

From what I can see, ALL third party voice coms softwares have a quicker latency than VoIP. Mumble is the fastest i've come across.

I Hate having to put up with new players joining the server and say/doing the "Mumble test, Mumble Test. Is it working? Am I on the right team" Every few minutes. This just gets my goat up. I Just don't need that when I am in the middle of a game.

It's is also "To much work" for none computer experts. Just bin it and move on.
