Are attack/observe markers nothing to you people? You're an SL in the chopper's gunner, you see a target but you're not sure if it's enemy. You put a marker on the target and then check your map to see where the marker is on it and then you see if there are enemies or friendlies at the marker.

Also, if at a low enough angle, the MEC and US for instance, you can see they have different running patterns if I'm not mistaken. The US seem more rigid and the MEC are more...uhm...not USish.

yeah it's nice and all for crewmen and pilots, but won't this put the balance off tremendously?
a tank can just drive around and basically use a wallhack and see everyone, so no matter where you go on the map, tanks and choppers can just wait until you walk out. caches can be instantly spotted, both revealed and un-revealed caches, due to the number of people that will inevitably spawn there and again, no where to hide, anywhere. i can see it being realistic and i support almost everything you can do and have done with pr to make it as awesome as it is and will be, but i just fail to see how this can maintain the balance and not turn into the biggest campfest for choppers and tanks. i'm all for asymmetry but this just feels too much.

What? You can't look through terrain or objects. How is it wallhack?

You do realise that thermals aren't exactly like the sights on the railgun in "Eraser" yeah?

No, I'm not being cheeky (too much :p ).

I have honestly spoken to people who are under the impression that thermals can see through solid objects. They can't.

i just see alot of balance issues. but we've only seen a few pics of it and i guess i'll have to try it out before making any judgements.

Armor as it is in 0.91 is, at least in my opinion, underpowered, so a buff won't throw balance off track.

Currently, I'm more scared of H-AT when I'm driving a tank than the other way around!

This will improve balance if anything, especially with the TOW's in mind.

And you should never walk into the open if the enemy has tanks and attack choppers anyway. :p

Besides, need for something bigger to protect you is the first step towards teamwork.

i think the forum alert level needs to move up to OMG, i can already hear the cries of how thermal imaging is going to ruin the mod

His concerns for infantry do have merit. We'll see how everything goes after release.

We are not at OMG. That will occur when the full feature list is posted. When that happens, it won't simply be cries and moans...oh no....the forums will be like the video log from the Event Horizon.

I know you guys haven't talked about everything yet, but will there be any buff/improvements for AA? Will portable AA get any improvements? Currently the thing is totally useless.

Interesting, most people complain AA is already overpowered, then again they fly all the time. :p

Good to see we're waiting on the nerf. It'll be nice not to have to cower in fear of absolutely everything in the game while driving a tank, even if it is just for a few weeks.

Just because you can't kill a tank the very second you see or hear it doesn't mean it's overpowered.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

I was more directing that at Goreziad. As in, "we'll see how everything goes after release" meaning "wait until you play". I understand that he's concerned is what I was saying.

+1. As of PR 0.9 an infantry squad with a HAT is more scary than an enemy tank, an inf squad by a FOB/TOW is scarier than 4 tanks.
