In close quarters you should always win.
wait, can some one confirm this? I am a big fan of the shotgun, and this would be awesome.
P.S. I read this whole thread, fear me now

I don't hate shotguns to be an insta kill button like in MW.

This
You can drop any grenade with right mouse button. While holding the right mouse button down, you can aim with the grenade in your hand for more accurate targeting.

Using right click instead of left click to through the grenade allows you to more precisely decide when to trough it. This can allow you to spend less time in more exposed positions.

Took me an embarrassingly long time to find that one out

This is not always the case. When playing US, right-clicking on Medic would receive a SCOPED version instead of UNscoped. With the US Marksman kit, you receive an ACOG rather than the usual scope.

For the record: by the medic's scope he means red-dot. For the other weapons, UNscoped is red-dot (or iron sights). The medic is the only exception (left click iron, right click red dot).

ALL GUNS IN THE FIGHT! You may feel inclined as a medic or SL to go hide somewhere while the rest of your squad fights. Stay back and as safe as possible, but be present in the fight. The two most important kits hiding in the back results in a major loss in numbers. Get all 6 rifles firing and win that fight! Even from safe cover you can poke your head out and provide suppressive fire on enemy positions for your advancing fireteam. a 6 on 6 will almost certainly hold out better for you than a 4 on 6
ADVANCE! Always fight your way to the most advantageous ground. Even if that means fighting into and taking over your enemy's position, take the best spot you can find and make it yours. Finding good cover in less advantageous ground means you'll die anyways a few seconds later.
CONTACT LEFT! Tactics and philosophies that work in real life tend to work well in PR as well. If you've been ambushed and have nowhere safe to go, WIN THE FIGHT. Advance into contact and push into the enemy until it is safe again (meaning they're all dead) Perhaps you might surprise them and cause panic among them by not backing down. They started shooting first...that means they'll also be reloading first!
MORE LEAD DOWN RANGE! as a rifleman at longer ranges forget about accuracy. put more lead down range and fire as a squad. the more lead is flying at him the more likely one will hit. forget trying to get the kill just shoot with a steady yet rapid pace.
SIGHTS UP SOLDIER! Sure they may seem slower and crouching, but always let the boys with Red dots or iron sights go first. Even though they are slow if they encounter enemy in CQC, they are the ones who have the least deviation and will be more likely to survive. You on the other hand sporting a scope will probably do a lot of missing and get mowed down by that enemy.
these are all things i've learned in the army and when applied like we do IRL these basic rules will serve you well even in game.

Actually waiting for a hit shot rather then just firing quickly means you'll get the kill faster. I lol @ people who spray, and I take 2 shots to take them down

Depends on the situation.

And the above is why this thread should remain strictly fact based, not personal tactics that are successful on a case-by-case basis.

Maybe warning learner helicopter pilots about carriers and Huey's having the issue where if you press and hold "S" for too long the skids can become stuck in the carrier and it can be a hassle getting them out without glitching all over the place.

THANK YOU! You have NO IDEA how many times I got stuck in the ground with a BlackHawk! I thought I had got hit or something (even though there was nothing/noone around)!
