My first blender model, made it in 10 minutes.
It was suppose to be a wine glass, but turned out to be something else.
edit: Version 2

Yeah, it's more or less an off-topic thread.. It doesn't necessarily pertain to community modding, but is more of a place for people to show off their modeling abilities and projects.

The bottom is flat, the lighting makes it seem rounded.
RKG-3 of sorts, WIP right now... in progress of learning the proper way to UVW

You can see more renders of the work over time at that link.

your render looks a bit unsharp. Try changing your antialiasing filter off the default "Area" to "Catmull-Rom" if you are using 3Ds Max. Found under "Renderer" tab in the render settings dialog box.

And if you are using 3ds max and when you save the file as jpg, make sure you put the smoothing at 0, otherwise it makes everything blurry.

Saw the thread and I thought I might share some of my stuff
This is one of my first real shots at a full weapon job, a Chinese Type 81 Kalashnikov clone. Note the lack of stock and magazine, it's still WIP.
I'll post more as it comes up.

Thanks very much, I've had to put the project on hold for now as I'm busy finalizing other assets for the mod I'm working on currently.

Wonder if anyone can help
http://www.easternfront.org/uploads/Tim270/prob1.jpg
I always run into this problem when having polies welded on cylinders, any ideas on how the poly construction should be in this?

maybe playing around with smoothing groups will help?
you can cut complete loops around cylinder, no
1
or if you want to save some polys, but handle top and cylinder have to have different SMs
2 3
or it will look weird
4
yay or nay?
