JDAM on mec-mortars

My Squadleader tried to build an FOB on a bridge... In the end, he destroyed the bridge, killed half of the squad and the supply truck. :m1helmet:

I was playing with PR view distance settings a few years ago. I dont remember posting it so here it is.
This works on public servers and I never got kicked by punkbuster.

The distance to the hill is about 5 km, definitely more than "hardcoded" 3 km.

How did you increase the distance?? Is there any confirmation from devs that this isn't considered an exploit? I have a plenty beefy machine and I'd love to increase my view distance if we're allowed to (although I admit it doesn't seem that fair)

Any chance to see that in PR 1.0 or 1.1?

I really don't know if it was harcoded or not, I think devs limited view distance for the ones that had a low-end computer, not to suffer low FPS while playing

and BTW those screens are from a local server, if not, where are all the rest of the players?

I have a feeling each obvect class has it's own VD setting that ties in with the LODs. Don't quote me on it, but that would explain the open beta tag down the bottom that you wouldn't get if you'd copied the map over into 0.98 and then opened a local server.

I don't think I understood what you said correctly, are you saying that he "copied" the maps from 1.0 to 0.98 and created a local from 0.98? beacause I think he did a local server directly from PR 1.0, just like I did and several others did.

No, I said he didn't hence the open beta tag. I didn't know you could run a local straight from 1.0 though, so maybe.

oh, sorry for misunderstanding, yes you can do it, but not from in-game, and I won't say how because I don't know if I'm allowed to.
