I'm pretty happy with how it is now. Rezza has it pretty completely right. You feel far more immersed without the name tags everywhere. The only time I've actually noticed teamkills is on night maps and that's bound to happen with or without name tags anyway.

Soldier #3: "I don't know. How do I know who you're looking at if I don't know who you are?"
Soldier #1: "I'm the guy with the Rifleman kit."
Soldier #3: "I see two guys with Rifleman kits. Move your mouse around so I know which one you are."
This will kill the mod

I would actually prefer 64 player servers with the current gameplay (rallies got pumped!) and nametags when close to SQD members instead of this random shit. How many times did I already try to tell someone to cover a corner and had to look at the SQD list to see his name, then make sure hes close to me and can hear me AND hes not a new guy and I know he can do the job.
Kills nerves.
In real life you know who you're rolling with and that was represented nicely with nametags for close SQD members.

I like no name tags... name tags for an SL would be good but that isn't going to happen :/
No name tags forces people to communicate and stay together... its only been a few days since release and already I've noticed lone wolfers waaay off somewhere getting TK'ed because everyone thinks he's an enemy.
As far as "OMG CQB is impossible without name tags!" argument goes its bull. In RL when soldiers split up to clear rooms they constantly yell back and forth about what they see and whats going on and where they are going because they don't have name tags. Oh noes no name tags now I have to actually be engaged in the game! QQ

in real life everyone can speak, but in the game people might not have mics, in real life we can see shit through our naked eye past a mile, in pr we can't due to the limitations. This is still a game, remember that and we're not all ex Us navy seals. The nametags help people who have sight problems, or can't tell the difference between uniforms.

100 players its good but (for me) tags is a must.
Imagine you are walking in a forest:
In RL you can take a look around you and very fast you recognize your mates in position.
With no tags you lose a lot of time thinking about if "that guy is my mate or not". I lose too much time looking my mates instead of scanning the front line.
Yes we want reality. By this, tags are mandatory coz simulate "people face and body" and help recognize them.
And we aren't real soldiers. We are at home and maybe family needs us for a minute, then we have to go back battle and rejoin squad faster as possible. Far squad leader TAG will help a squad stay together and have the feeleing you are integrated in a team.
-----
Edit: As we can't have tags for 100 players server it is better no Tags.

Tags are needed for 2 primary reasons:
1) Players need to be able to look at and recognize nearby teammates to be able to talk to them directly. No, "machine gun guy, no not you, no, the other one, yeah you" doesn't count.
2) With the widespread removal of binoculars (a serious mistake in my opinion, but the topic for another thread), making out friendly/enemy troops at any distance beyond absolutely dead-on in front of you is a lottery. Sure, you can hit M once every 5 seconds, but that's even more "game-y" and less realistic than just being able to recognize friendly forces via eyesight at 50m away.
In real-life conflicts (which is, to my understanding, what this game is trying to emulate to whatever degree it can) you are trained and drilled and very accustomed to uniform recognition. Furthermore, as has been infinitely expounded in various other threads, the human eye can make out far more detail than a 1080 pixel height monitor can represent. These two factors combined mean that in real-life, a soldier should easily be able to identify a friendly soldier standing in a field at 50m away, while in-game this isn't possible without checking your map for a big blue dot. This is very, very game-y and immersion killing; vastly more-so than merely being able to see a nametag when looking at a friendly troop.

Everybody should have a mic if playing PR. You are in the wrong neighborhood.
Were talking about CQB, and tags werent visible on long distances before, except if you aimed for prolonged time, but this is still in, given the played ID is <65. Your arguments are invalid.
Suddenly, communication has become the key. Yelling for friendly position in woods/CQB is a must. Nobody does it. Because it doesnt say anywhere that you must, but obviously COMMON SENSE today is a god given superpower than only the chosen one inherit, apparently.

This is another reason why I dislike 100-player servers.

100 player servers aren't the problem, it's the people playing on them. If your not sure if it its a friend or foe, DON"T FUCKING SHOOT. It's not rocket science. Wait to confirm enemy through map and squad chatter before lighting someone up. Players need to be more patient.

I know that pr is free, but ...
0.98 were so nice to play !!! and you make the whole game with one update to 1.0 so crappy is just crappy
and all tell about reality.thats still a game...if you want reallity move to Moslemland and fight there for freedom...
i want to play a game like 0.98 was...smooth teamplay with a touch of reallity and not like 1.0 arcade gaming like BF Vanilla take the flags fast and kill all that you can see ! teamkilling yeah...
some guys want more commander and artillery things....you can use motars, why where they in the game??!! so stupid things what have become changes...only arcade shit like other shooters...
100player on such small maps , pfff ...laggs....no nametags, 8 man squads !!!! you cant handle such many people without nametags in your squad, no coordination...maybe you have all people from one clan where you know the voices, you can handle it ! BUT if you play with foreign people you cant handle it !!!!
if i play pr, i only drive tank with one teammate and close squad...all other infantrie stuff is exhausting !!!
sorry for bad english - it was the translator

the only issue I have with the 100p servers is when people constantly whine about it, saying it is 'too much' or 'too small'.
