Its a good point with the rule, tho. I will consider changing it (and probably other rules that are also sometimes not being enforced).

Wait, what? Critics in a server feedback thread and we were able to agree on a point and sort it out? What a day to be alive!

I was actually curious myself now, how often we play which map, so I made a tool which reads it out of the chatlogs. It reads how often maps are put into a map vote (if spelled correctly).

Considering the fact, that POV was wishing for Ulyanovsk 2 rounds ago, I dont think that anyone can complain of the map choices. Yes, they are not perfect, but kashan and bijar has been put into the mapvote 22 times (together), while other maps are clearly dominating.

He made a list of the maps that get put in votes because your guys ask for it most of the time, don't get me wrong it's a good map but people rarely vote for it but it's there.

We try to keep the game balanced at most times but then we have some people who leave when they get switched for balance.

I could also develop a system that makes sure that every map and layer is played equally. But the server up time would then shrink by roughly 70%, so no, I am not going to do that.

Im not going to risk the servers population on Dovre Alt, Fools Road Inf, Lashkar AAS STD or Bihar Lrg.

I am quite happy with how often the maps are put in the map votes currently and I actually think its a shame, that Muttrah is abused for seeding right now. A serious non-seeding round of muttrah could be quite fun. But the current situation would then lead to more complains.

Making mapvotes from time to time is nice but if you use them all the time you get the problem with overplayed maps & layouts.

The other problem is the 4km -> 2km -> 4km .... system. Most of the 4km maps are unplayable for 90% of the players. Why dont you play some 4km INF layouts if you really want them? Or is it only about playing assets 24/7?

You also have to watch balance on 4km asset maps much more carefull than on 2km inf maps...
Had some great experience on Bijar with asset whores vs assets noobs.


If you really want to increase server quality try this:

1. Play some of these maps without voting:
<70 players: Mestia, Hill, Ghosttrain, Tad Sae
>70 players: Foolsroad, IronRidge, 4kmINFlayouts

2. Devide good asset players on both teams when playing 4km

So, Im overall quite happy with how the chart looks like. But I also think that it needs to be balanced even more.

Currently, we were going 2k -> 4k -> 2k -> 4k. In the beginning it worked quite fine with maps coming in that also give cover for infantry. We even had Pavlovsk winning agains Kashan once. However, that is not the case anymore.

There needs to be a 100% idiot proof procedure on how to chose maps for the map votes. If anyone wants to join the discussion:

Playing 4km INF layout is soooo RETARD! (MY OPINION, SORRY). It is boring playing only INF vs INF and it is boring playing only ASSETS vs ASSETS. PR it is PR because the immersion between INF + ASSETS. It is better playing 1km~2km STD layout than 4km INF. If you open one server running only INF layout or running only ASSETS layout (vehicle warfare?!?!?), NO ONE WILL JOIN/SEED this server.

Going 1/2KM > 4KM > 1/2KM > 4KM it is the best way to balance assets maps and inf/low assets map.

The other retardation it is playing the same style of map, one after one. Example:
Khashan > Khamy (desert > desert)
Beirut > Muttrah (urban > urban)
Saarema > Pavlovsk (forest > forest)
Iron Ridge > Kozelsk (forest > forest)

So, the diversification secret is: 1KM/2KM > 4KM and DESERT > URBAN > FOREST. Example (IF the server has +80 players)
If we are playing MUTTRAH, the mapvote need to be only with 4KM DESERT or FOREST
If we are playing Kashan, the mapvote need to be only with 1/2KM URBAN or FOREST
If we are playing WANDASHAN, the mapvote need to be only 1/2KM URBAN or DESERT

And try the maximum possible to do no repeat maps played one day before. (AGAIN, MY OPINION)

1. Play some of these maps without voting:
<70 players: Mestia, Hill, Ghosttrain, Tad Sae
>70 players: Foolsroad, IronRidge
, 4kmINFlayouts
AND, on some mapvotes, force with 3 non playable maps like the above example. Because if you set 2 non playable maps with one "good" map, people will vote for this good map and we will not play different maps...


The reason i usually do only assets it is because the LAG. Area-94 it is the only server i can do INF. It is the only server i dont rubber band/lag. I really get pissed off on others servers doing INF because i HIT the enemy a lot of time and he still alive... (And back to 0.7~0.98, when i come from CS, i was INF whore :P )

I agree with map area diversity but playing 4k, 2k, 4k, 2k is retarded.
MOST 4k maps (especially desert) are only fun for the 6-8 assets guys on your team. Try Bijar as INF you will never have so much fun....

Since you dont have lags on A94 why not playing INF? After a while you will even hit more...

I disagree. 4x4 INF is the best, what you can get in PR. There are no assets that are farming kills; there count only your own skill, not the numbers of tanks / CAS and APCs / IFVs that your team lost / killed.

I disagree. While combined arms provides fun, infantry layers on large 4km maps allows much more strategic movements and in such games it comes down to which team being better at being in right place in right time in comparison to assets powered frontline.

In organised/tournament Rounds (like PRT?!?!) will be fun and very well played.

Just look what usually happen when public server runs CNC, usually takes 10 minutes that round. We are talking about people who dont know where is North, South, West and East. BUT again, every one thinks different, and for me it is retard playing 4km INF on a public full server.

I would say that it depends in the player base. The Saaremaa round right after the .13 update was a blast, Saaremaa INF would have worked quite well with these guys, as well.

I would not completely compare it to CNC. CNC gives you full freedom on what you can do (which too many SLs cant handle), while AAS gives you only 3 options: Attack, Defend, Flank.

4km inf layout is fucking awesome, this is where teamwork and team cooperation stands out.
