That's the same guy as sparked off this event. I can't see any responses from people to say that they made it onto his server has player #65.

It's Running (4) cores @ 2.6ghz With 4gb of ram. Tons more juice than the current TCombat server.

Multi San Andreas mod servers has 128+ players
so why BF2 :P RRM to not have ?!??!

Dead end with this guy. :( He just hacked the .exe and this has never been proven. The most players he got in was 48 on his test date. We're going to poke at it without hex editing the .exe and see where we can get, we'll have to test it on Dragon Valley as thats the only map with 128 control points.

I think the bf2 engine is set to a max 128 players. But later dice decide to make is 64 because it would only be more spammy if there where 128 player on karkand and due performances. I think they modified the server and client and maybe the bf2.exe as well.

What if this crashes loads of client sides though!
I think that eventually we can organise this. but i also think it will hinder a lot of less powerfull players(computer strength), and leave them in the dust while the higher powered people jet on ahead. And thats not fair.

Am i wrong?

I don't think there will be any serious performance problems on the client side.

Unless you had all 110 players sat in the same place at once I can't imagine for a second that it'd stress out machines clientside.

Anyways, it's all moot unless somebody gets something sorted and tries it out.

I have putt 512 bots at BF 2142, I think thats spawn maximum
Just tryed 1000, but OK - and 500 is something :)
PS - the comp run slow, because AI of bots and CPU, not the graphics !

Maybe have 50 Human players or so, versus 100 bots or something...

The bots would have Tweaked AI (can you do that?) to make them better...


Oh, and can you put in another squad or something? Squad 10/11/12
Just because the maximum amount of players you can possibly have is 55 on a team...

Squad system is completely hardcoded.

55 is still a massive improvement over 32.

yes i think 55 players plus a commander would be fine, like 112 people on single server is still a huge ammount, just with that many people every map would need to be 4x4km, if it is even 2km itwould just become a frag fest all over the map with no room to flank and other things. but if someone gets the 8x8km maps to work then we are set.

Send email to DiCE, to make BF2 avaible for 128 players and 10x10km maps,
amd we will be meet on the BF con, at mega LAN party :)

We've managed to get a server up to 128 players with-out voilating the EULA (hacking .exe) I'll post again when its ready for a test. Phase 1 will be V dragon valley as that has 128 already
We'll need a lot of volunteers to see what happens after 64 players join.
