Lol, seems like my intel is outdated a bit!

Yeah totally forgot to bump that in here. My friend worked on that documentary, looks like it is going to be great, although I think it will spark a massive debate around here.

Yeah while visiting my friend, who worked on it, we discussed the topic of the responsibility the director had about something as huge as this. The way he choose to portray and cut things will completely change how people see the situation and our troops. I really fear that this is yet another guy that want to be overly critical for the sake of being overly critical. I hate that, especially with issues such as this.

If it ends up portraying the troops badly the troops might loose support and respect of the public, which will make it a bad subject to touch for politicians and that results in less funding for the men and women down there who need equipment and support.

So in my opinion, on subjects as this the director has an enormous responsibility, and I sure as hell hope he realizes this and not just want to be famous for making something controversial.

if you listened to the interviews with him that have been done, it is pretty much for the fame thing, which is terrible. he actually "insulted" the danish troops he was with on national radio. pretty dumb and it's terrible.

From what Ive learned, I am angryfied with the politicians rather than the troops.
Im not even outraged by the actions of the troops.

But I would like to have a serious conversation with some politicians now.
My standing oppinion on the matter at this moment, is to escalate the war, which it is pretty danm fair to call it.

Our government has, by not informing the public of the realities, betrayed its responsibility to our own troops.

Our troops are fighting a war which is not given half the required level of commitment from the politicians.

Our government continuesly state that this is a war worth fighting, and I completely agree, but that is just talking the talk. We need that sigfinicant latter part as well.

And if our nation is not prepared to walk the walk, why are we still participating and thereby endangering the lives of our troops through our half-meassures?

I have always considered the danish level of commitment to be correct, obviously I was quite wrong.
Our troops are doing what they can, with what they have got. Because of our political half-meassures, our troops are paying dearly.

I believe we as a nation need to decide if this is something we are commited to.

Personally, I think we owe it to the blood already spilled, to see this through.


This state of half-meassure does not hold a future, and is endagering our troops.

Completely agreed. My friend is down there right now. His buttstock on his C8 has been broken for a few months before they deployed and now half way through his deployment he is still running around with that same broken buttstock. I know it is a small thing, but the small things need to work. Seriously, a soldiers own personal defense is something that cannot be saved a few bucks on imho.

I agree, either we commit or we leave, and I agree that we commit. The war and problems isn't even an issue anymore (hence no politicians are finding it worth debating and spending their time on, right now choices for which schools the politicians kids are going to is the "hottest" thing to debate. Seriously stop wasting my tax money politicians and do your jobs) even though people get hurt all the time.

I totally agree with you guys its the same here in Norway, talking about our troops in A-stan is not a vote winner and therefore there are no real backup as the normal Ola Norwegian could not care less about whats happening in a dessert.

And the politicians says its not a war, but just some weeks ago 9 soldiers got injured, they where a group of 16 persons figthing against nearly 50 insurgents with no air as the cowards where hiding inside houses that possibly where civillian houses. The 2 worst injured got chopper evacuated, under heavy fire, they had to leave critical items such as radios, weapons and vehicles when they retreated when they got the chance because a jet roared over the battle sight, last time 9 norwegian soldiers got injured were under WW2. The army has waited nearly 1 year on getting shields on their turrets on their cars. And the soldiers also say they have better equipment when training at home then out in the field.

Either they have politicians that talk about it or they should back the f out.

I will though definitely see this docu, from a interview I read he said it was not a political documentary it was one to show whats down there, but I read just an interview and it can be other interviews that he has come out differently.

Interesting proposal. I would love to see the danish forces as a playable faction, if it could be possible sometime in the future.
