IF he was not using the PR mumble the connection failed message would be different.
Its likely a firewall issue. You need to allow all incoming and outgoing UDP and TCP packets for PRmumble.exe.
The only other possible reason was if his IP was banned .... (but I am not sure that we have even done this ever to anyone ... afaik we haven't)

Something that has been bugging me...
When I squad lead, I sometimes type out in team chat," SQ #(whatever) is on Mumble for direct comms!". The most frequent response is, "Is this a Mumble server?".
I would just like to clarify that almost
ANY PR server can be a Mumble server. Most of the popular PR servers have their own Mumble channels on the Official PR Mumble Server and all it takes is logging in and joining the correct channel. I feel people should get in the habit of logging into Mumble first before starting PR so it becomes second nature. Now, if you decide to join a server that isn't Mumble-dedicated, the worst that happens is that you are in a channel by yourself for the duration of the map. I feel the possibility of excellent teamwork between squads is worth the tiny bit of system and bandwidth resources allocated to Mumble. I am pleasantly surprised however when a squad leader on my team does join. Having 2 squads in direct communication with each other proves almost invaluable on most pub servers.
So, I encourage everyone to join Mumble before starting PR. Hopefully, it will turn into a hard habit to break.

Don't mean to bump this but its relevant.
Remember to try to get your Mumble name to match as closely as possible to your in-game name. I know I can't add my clan tag because it contains an asterisk (*), so it is DesmoLocke instead of =OSS*DesmoLocke.
Just trying to make the Mumble admin's job a bit easier and to avoid confusion.
Any chance of having the same characters allowed by BF2 to be implemented in PR Mumble 0.6?

Any news on G15 support, is it perhaps possible to ask the regular mumble project for any ideas on what could be causing the issue?

nub question - I've used mumble before, and no issues.
Now, I can't seem to talk on it but can in-game. I've seem to have forgot to put in my preferred push to talk button, what's the default? and how do I change it, I've checked settings but not found anything to allow me to change it?
