Problem: The unarmed BRDM at the start of rounds is fast enough to get to the docks and ram landing choppers, often tipping them so when the pilot accelerates into one of the warehouses, or simply explodes.
Its highly unlikely that a LAT kit is taken to the docks by the USMC, and the BRDM is usually driving around full pelt already looking for targets.
Solution: Putting the BRDM on a spawn timer of 1 minute after the game start, since it would take this long for the squads to cap south city where the SL's are waiting at main for the logi trucks. Even 30 seconds would give the US enough time to land, drop crate, and have a squad build a FOB inside a warehouse.
Want more details Rhino or is that enough?

Na I get the picture and can't put it on a 1min delayed spawn since then it would have only a 1min spawn time so literally 1min after it dies it would respawn

Link it to the South City flag similar to how the M.E.C. logistic trucks are?

I meant something else by doing something else to stop it and not replacing it with anouther vehicle.

No, the solution is a logical one to a problem that is stupidly unrealistic and shouldn't be happening.
In an urban situation would USMC pilots really land on top of shipping containers instead of large, open ground? In real life would armored military vehicles really be used to ram landing helicopters?

This is a problem caused by players and can be fixed by players. I can't see the problem really.

Choppers are used so unrealistically anyway, that any "in real life they would or would not do that" argument can't really be used, to be honest
Boats are sexier anyway.

QFT!
Its so ninja to drive with a boat to the cargoship, get up on the top of the ship with your grappling-hook and take out a freaking SQ, FOB and AA while them lamers dont even know what just happend

Well I noticed a few problems that cause the USMC to lose:
-After landing at the docks, instead of building 2 or 3 FOBs, the guys who have already landed just start trickling into North City one by one.
-If a FOB does happen to get built, people insist on spawning on the carrier and making the hueys do unnecessary flights.
-People charge against dug in enemy positions while taking fire from machine guns. As a result the entire squad gets mowed down in seconds.
-No one carries LAT, and the LAVs drive around on commando missions instead of backing up the infantry
-There are never sufficient boots on the ground when attacking. It takes way too long to get enough men on a flag when assaulting it, which gives the MEC ample time to counterattack.

Not...really? The USMC do helicopter assaults with their infantry and AAVs right? So how is helicopters transporting infantry
unrealistic?
Its a valid argument since no army in their right mind is going to use a scout vehicle to
ram an opposing helicopter. It isn't standard practice, nor it is it a smart idea.
Players use what works, since this works, its going to be spammed to no end unless the admins on the server create a no-ramming rule, which exists only on TG I believe. But it shouldn't be up to the server admins to stop something which can simply be changed by editing a line of code.

I didn't claim that using them is unrealistic, but the way they are used by many players. Using a chopper instead of walking 500 meters for example.
If an open area is dangerous, not only due to ramming vehicles, but also small arms, MG's, AT's or any other things that say "bang", wouldn't it be a bit stupid to land there?
The problem is that both teams know what their enemies will do, even before the game begins. Yet people still use the same tactics every time.
Anyhow, my statement wasn't based on facts, was badly formed and misplaced. Sorry about that.

im just bored to see this apc`s warfare in this map.
muttrah is good city map and its legend in PR maps.
...but apc`s just make it worse.
they really dont transport troops anywhere, they just drive around blocks and chase the enemy apc.
and maybe cos there is so much water and big mountains, the space where aps`s can operate is small.
thats why it feels like there is apc wars going on all the time.
i would like to test this map just with few apc`s that those dont respawn.
maybe spawnable humwee at docks and techies to mecs.

because theres many infantry squad's tha doesn't know how to call apc transport/suport
Unfortunately apcs are used like light tanks in pr because of nub squad leaders...

I'd rather have the APC's on my team destroy the enemy APC's and distract their infantry while I walk to objectives unhindered.

what i would like to see in muttrah is narrower streets and alleyways, humvees (and whatever the MEC equivalent is) instead of apc's, and the return of the epic 0.87 loading music.
