I already expect almost nothing from HOG, but is still a good server to relax and end the night, unfortunately today they managed to set the bar even lower;

My story is the same as Danger but in another perspective.

After Muttrah being terminated I quickly rejoin and start asking the reason behind this move just to see myself ignored.

Shortly after Danger rejoins the server, an admin finally replies to the question "why was the server terminated" with "Its not of you business". This is to my eyes unacceptable, any server in PR lives in symbiosis between the server's owner (admin team) and the public who joins and populate the server, unfortunately the admin team does not share this ideal and kicks me when I present it to them.

By this time both me and Danger are out of the server, respectively kicked and banned, I end my HOG's journey without knowing why did they terminated the server and why did they switch to Ramiel INS, if the vote was for Fools, Dovre and Pavlosly.

You are right that you told me that I don't think this is going to work between us.

But let us put that comment into perspective. This was after an hour's conversation where I attempted to convince you that your admin banning a person with the reason "f**k off" is unreasonable (and also a breach of your own rule-set). During this conversation you did not seem to agree with me and I said I can't accept that. This is when you said I don't think it's going to work. I then said "I agree." Before I left your teamspeak I said thank you for the opportunity.

I do not resent you in the slightest. I actually took the admin's position with great caution in the first place. I didn't really want it but I thought I could impart some positivity into your poor reputation. Since you clearly didn't want to change your ways I said damn it, I don't care.

I was once an admin on NwA and I did my damned best to deal with abusive admins. I didn't want the headache again. If I wanted trouble from you guys I would have found it straight after I resigned (you didn't boot me, I actually resigned, let's make that clear). It's been a couple months now and I still don't care that I am no longer an admin on HOG - in fact, I am glad.

This is clearly not an instance of me trolling your admins. Surely if I wanted to troll your admins, and if I did harbour resentment I would have misbehaved and acted like countless other morons. Trolling is when I am trying to grieve your admins, what actually happened is that your admins grieved me. I was merely asking questions that many other people on your server wanted answered. Just because you didn't like that you label me a troll?

Neither Turista or me were angry or "pi**ed" that the server was restarted. I was frustrated when I was obviously being ignored by the admins. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you were ignored?

This whole incident could have been prevented by mature and considerate admins.

P.S. You talk about resentment; isn't it a funny coincidence that the admin I previouslly called out for breaking your server's rules was online at the time of this farce?

Lol, of course we do. There are tons of servers, it's just that people flock to the pubservers they played at for a long time sadly. I miss the sparta guys....what were they called. A clan that had a spartan warrior as their loggo. Always great admins, based in Northern Europe.

Not really.

HOG is the only server populated at late night for the EU people to play there. I useally join to relax and play with my friends there once NEW or Merk empties, but the Admin quality leaves much to be desired to be frankly i've had nothing but negative experiences there. It's a shame really, but I suppose it's my own fault for playing there.

@Danger6: We are taking your feedback seriously, I can assure you. Like I said before, I basically retired, but this issue is bringing me back to try and handle things, it's absolutely being taken seriously. Things are happening. Back when I was mostly in charge of the PR side of HOG, I kept a very close eye on the feedback thread. Super did a great job but does not have the patience for trolls that I have and your feedback tends to get lost among the trolls and the people addicted to e-drama. We'll appoint someone in addition to Super to handle the public relations aspect of things and act as an in-between for the PR community and the HOG clan, the same way I used to do. Then hopefully I can go back to the drama-free world of Real Life.

Until that is sorted I'll keep a closer eye on things and make sure things don't spin out of control.

I hope this at least assures you that we're taking this seriously.

@Mods: Can you clean up this thread please? People that have not played on the server have no business in this thread.

These threads are to provide constructive feedback to server admins about your experience when playing on their server - these can be good and bad experiences. The server admins may choose to ignore / disregard this feedback.

Further accusations of breaches of server licence or mod bias will not be tolerated. If you have any legitimate concerns with either then your approach should be;

1. PM a red tag for server related issues
2. PM Spec to deal with any breach of server moderation policy.

If anybody would like to make suggestions on making this section of the forum work better (i.e; guideline changes etc.) then we would be more than happy to review - pm me.

Before anybody posts in this thread again, I request you review the section guidelines once again - although we might not take immediate action, you can be assured we do look at most posts on these forums.

This has to be the lowest thing I have seen on the PR forums so far... HOG is a massive issue to the Pr community and player base right now. Please PM me with such issues. Posting them in a thread like this means that both sides report eachothers posts and there's no way we can make anyone happy. We can either punish both parties or noone and let it run out of hands.

I seriously dislike the way this works. Really, I'm the last guy who thinks you shouldn't be able to do something about a problem with a server, same with Noddy. But please take it directly to me. To us. To the Dev team, Mod team. If they breached policy, we take action. If they didn't and simply have a server you don't like, I'm afraid that's all that's to be said about it.

Of course I don't want to censor you to the point of you not being able to say "I think this server has problems". I just can't let you discuss, in depth, specifics in a thread like this because it always, without exception, gets out of hand and we're without options other than a cleanup. I know it sucks, but if you know a solution, PM me it, as Noddy said. I'd be very interested to hear how - exactly - you'd make the rules.

We only asked that people who don't play on the server but only like posting here to stir things up, refrain from cluttering the feedback from the players.

Apparently the mods thought your post was inappropriate, so I'm not sure what the best course of action is if you want your feedback heard, but regardless of the options, feel free to PM me, Tequila or Super and I guarantee you we'll read it and take it into account.

I'd like to re-assure everyone else once again that we're not taking this lightly, we're making some changes and reviewing some of our past actions and we'll be in touch with the individuals affected (Danger6 and others). Now that the thread is less cluttered we can actually have an idea as to where we went wrong and how we can change this in the future.

Glad to see a mature admin step up and talk in a civilized way. Hog is the only American server I play on (Like many of the people I play with), so we really just want this server to be worth playing on. It's not a lost cause, and I hope that you can figure out how to make everything going the right way. Good luck Braz, you set a good example towards the other admins.

I really hope that HOG will rethink its relationship with the PR community. I did play on your server regularly, and while there were some aspects that I did not enjoy, there were some redeeming qualities about your service.

I know that feedback threads can be overwhelming, especially during times like this, but I only wanted the best for the people who play on your server.

There are a lot of new PR players who join your server, if they are treated so severely by the admins for not understanding some aspects of the game and some of the general rules that most servers employ, they will not look at this mod in a good light.

I look forward to see how you will attempt to deal with some of the issues that myself and others have raised in this thread.

Again, thank you for your tactful and neutral posts Brezmans, I respect your attitude considering this recent critique of your community.

Cheers guys, I appreciate that we can all talk about this in a civilized way. It won't be an overnight solution as I need to be brought up to speed by both sides on what happened exactly and then we need to figure out where we went wrong.

From what I can gather at the moment, it seems to be largely based on miscommunication and misinterpretation.

One thing we're changing, even though it might sound minor, is that we're bringing Tequila along as a sort of liaison between HOG and the PR community, in addition to Super. He is not a HOG member but has played on our server for years and is one of our oldest and most appreciated guest admins. This way he is more neutral than us and can act as a good intermediary. He has access to our internal forums, like the other guest admins and can help rebuild our relationship with the players which, admittedly, we sometimes lose track of. We've always been a bit isolated from the community as we like doing things our way, and this has paid off in a no-nonsense approach to trolling and bs, but it's easy to lose track of the playerbase along the way. It's time to find that middle-ground again.

Hey guys I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I was linked this forum and told it was the right place to discuss this.
I'm writing because I appear to be banned from the Hog server but don't know why.
I've been playing project reality since the start and have never been one for asset stealing or team killing or anything like that. I play for the teamwork that's missing in modern battlefield and so really don't understand why it says I'm banned by an admin for excessive team killing when I try and join.

I play as Ryan - 85 and this ban has been the case for the last few months now.
As I recall it my last action on the server was coming round a corner and seeing an enemy officer who may have been AFK. I quickly blasted him with my pistol without having time to think about it and was then banned for team killing about 60 seconds after.

Seems kind of vindictive and unfair unless there's something I'm missing

Whoever told you that needs to give themselves an uppercut. Bans shouldn't be discussed in these forums period.

Also, please remember that our policy concerning bans is that it isn't any of our business. If you have been banned, please seek an appeal on the server admins website.
