The airport one...the one between British and MEC. I forgot the name of it. The convoy maps were a good idea, but rarely played properly. Operation Compton (Between British and PLA) had some good ideas, but could have been developed further.

Does anyone have the minimaps from those maps or what?

All the old maps should be made compatible with .85/6, but only put on a retro server. That way gameplay is preserved, but you can go down memory lane whenever you want.

^^What he said.
Personally I'd love to play a round on Zatar again (thats the only vBF2 map that actually looked like a PR map)

I have to ask, why would airport not fit in 0.85?

Hmmm as a 16p map it would be a good one

I think its roughly similar like a cartoon of the real thing, docks on left and construction at the back

Muttrah 1 was a overly simple version of the real muttrah, where muttrah 2 is pretty much what is there.

I wonder how Muttrah 1 looks anything like the real Muttrah. I mean, it obviously isn't modeled after it at all, nor is it near the size. Honestly, it looks like a guy's first map ever and needed a name so they searched for a popular middle-eastern city port.
Sorry Rhino.

You obviously have never tried modeling any RL thing into a much simplified version of it have you (as even Muttrah 2 is a simplification of the real thing)
But to Rhino's appraise, the core elements of the map where already there as well as those intended its gameplay. Tbh the first time I saw that map I thought (think this was a bit before its use in the tourney [btw MEC completely blew us

] "omg this is rubbish ... this is seriously lacking design, man what a dope" .. and I was dead wrong on all counts. For all its faults this map brought gameplay options that where lacking in other maps and also showed me a side of Rhino I hadn't gotten to appreciate from his Bravo squad Days

Muttrah 1 was only based on the real muttrah, its like a film that says "Based on a true story", most of the time the film is radically different from what really happened but that is for the sake of making it a good movie or cutting costs or w/e.
The simple reason why muttrah 1 was nothing like the real one is I simply did not have the skill and mainly the statics to pull it off. for a start, the sea wall would have been impossible to do well with the current statics vBF2 had (which was the only statics I had available to me at the time).
But yes, Muttrah 1 had the same basics features of the real muttrah, it had a port, a city, a sea wall, a sea front main road and the mosque and buildings etc.
and Saobh, you where in my squad in C1? I really can't remember much about back then, apart from we had a guy(or possibly not a guy) called AsianLadyBoy in the squad...

Actually quite the opposite. My girlfriend's family is from Oman and she has peeps living in Muttrah, and when she looked over my shoulder once she went like:"WTF that's muttrah."
I'd venture to argue its a pretty decent adaption.

That's really cool that a non-PR player recognised a real-life location from a PR map!
Great job Rhino!
