Well there is an easy way to find out if your AV program is the cause. Simply turn it off during the duration of playing the game. Also double check your router (if you are using one) and make sure the necessary ports are open for BF2. If you are using a Cable/DSL modem and you are worried about your router you could attempt to hard connect via Cat5 cable to the modem from your computer and by pass your router. Turn off SpyWare programs and all that as well.

Basically you are turning off as much processes as possible to see if it's a conflict with a current running program.

I also get the MD5 problem now on some servers...

PB message after kicked...

MD5Tool mismatch: mods/pr/levels/albasrah//server.zip (len=204 8)

So far, its only on 2 server, Battlearena and Russian. I have no problem on others.

Lame!

I'll try to re-install everything...

Just like to say a quick thank you to Kilroy for that guide, I did it yesterday and it seems to sorted things out I hope.

all the best.

edit -
that was foolish, I have just crashed whilst online. but I think was it was more to do with the fact I was lagging terribly.

Heh, boy am I stupid. I tried doing what you said but forgot to copy the one from battlefield 2/mods/pr/shaders_client and took that and just moved it into the mods/bf2. Then I deleted it, thinking it was glitched. Now I'm re-installing PR

Hello,

Since today i have the same problems. But by me is the problem my shaders_client.zip.
But i have not changed ANYTHING since i played PR for the last time.
There is just one thing, for any reason i created an other username.
And with that one, i cant remember i have the same problems.

But that's not everything, sometimes im be kicked BEFORE i enjoy a server.
But with my other account i have not that problem.

Sooo. . . Somebody any idea??

please do not hijack threads - make your own or even better search the forum first

pr does not mess up the profile - however - some mods fiddle with the profiles thus making them incompatible for any other mod/vbf2
you should use one account per mod

I have search the form, but my english is not that good. So i picked the first one i saw.

And if i have problems with my first account and not my second, i just use my second account? Alright that might no problem.

But i have asked a friend to send me HIS shader_client.zip perhaps that makes the different.

Replacing your shaders_client.zip file with one that you know works is one of the ways to fix the issue if your shaders_client.zip file was corrupted in some way. It happens on occasion and is listed in the list of solutions somewhere in this thread. If it happens again however or on a routine basis you may want to copy the file to a different location. Perhaps save it on a flash disk or another hard drive while you know it still works. This way you can replace it whenever you need to. However if it's being it being corrupted that much you may want to defrag your hard drive or run a chkdsk on your HDD to see if it has bad sectors. If so then it may mean your HDD is on the way out and a new one may be in order.

Glad to see you have it working again.

That MD5 error really puzzles me..
I've gotten it ever since 0.5, and it has never left me alone. I've tried most of your fixes, but i think PB simply just don't like me.
For every version, it's just one server at the time that PB dissaproves.
0.5 the Helix-server woulnd't let me in. Can't remember 0.6 quite think it was iGi. 0.7 Thor's kept kicking me for no appearant reason. 0.75 fixed that, but left me in the dark over at TacticalGamer.
I hope 0.8 will leave me unwanted at one of those servers i never play at.

Thanks for the advice, PRdoll, but i've tried in the past with no success. As for now, i've allready formatted system and reinstalled PR twice since 0.75-release. So it shouldn't be corrupt init.con or jalalabad-file.

You must use the desktop shortcut that gets install when you 1st install PR. It has some extra setting in it.

Try the one I have uploaded here. You my have to edit it to remove the

(x86)

Line from it as I run on Vista Ultimate 64 bit system.

As I have already said, YOU MUST USE THE DESKTOP SHORTCUT THAT GETS INSTALLED WHEN YOU 1ST INSTALL PR. It has EXTRA settings in it.
