Its only a few changes to the localisation file if you wanna change it for yourself, except for the flag.

I think Fools Road and Assault on Mestia had way better gameplay with British and Russians. Brits are excellent choice for this map.

Good looking map. Russia versus some coalition force would be awesome.

Re: [Map] Dragonfly [WIP]
Some might consider this a nitpick but subtlety was never really a part of socialist monuments.
I'm sure you've seen this picture. Well, that's not it's original position. In all probability, it was actually placed on a huge pedestal, kind of like this, but not as big.
IMO a pedestal half the size of the statue, not very complicated geometric shape, probably white or brown marble would do very much in terms of getting across that feeling of bad-taste grandeur typically associated with all forms of socialist art. + covering that square with concrete would help a lot.
Also, statues of that size were usually made of some type of metal, practically never out of concrete. Stone wasn't really common either.
Oh and most communist blocks where built with this stuff (usually rendered gray or light beige, sometimes parts covered with brick) or concrete prefabs but almost never built entirely of brick even if it was just 4 storeys high.
Again, IMO, it doesn't look gray enough (also note, it's more like light gray).
I'd also add that it hurts my eyes whenever I see ground level balconies but I doubt anyone here cares about my eyes so I'll just ask: would any of you want to live in an apartment with such easy outside access?
That said, even if all that is completely disregarded, I'm still looking forward to the map as I consider the series very original and enjoyable.

Re: [Map] Dragonfly [WIP]
this was usually used for foundation not whole building
this depends on time when it was built, houses made somewhere 50s are 4-5 storey buildings made from brickconcrete prefabs but almost never built entirely of brick even if it was just 4 storeys high

concrete prefabs are used in "khrushevka"s, they are usually 5 storey

higher buildings were also usually made from prefabs

more modern buldings(80s, 90s and later) are made from bricks or have concrete skeleton and bricks facade

here is example of WIP building, started somewhere at 2006-2007

i now live in such flat and it is a block(~16-20) of such buildings, i cant see any difference between window and glassed balcony in terms of security but you're right that its very unusual hereI'd also add that it hurts my eyes whenever I see ground level balconies but I doubt anyone here cares about my eyes so I'll just ask: would any of you want to live in an apartment with such easy outside access?

Re: [Map] Dragonfly [WIP]
Haven't seen many of those, probably because blocks only started to pop up in the 70's in Romania, but if the color was similar to that in the pictures I think it'd be fine, my problem is that they're a little too dark and somewhat reminiscent of cheap British housing for workers.DankE_SPB wrote:this depends on time when it was built, houses made somewhere 50s are 4-5 storey buildings made from brick![]()
Those blocks in the 5th picture are exactly what I had in mind, where you can clearly see how it was put together. I see a lot of them here in Bucharest.
And with the balconies, around here, the balcony is usually at least 1/2m above ground level and most are glassed and even backed up by a steel mesh. The way it looks in screen shots, one could just jump in.
Oh and your streets look cleaner than ours.

heh, gotta love soviet time flats. as I heard, they are only for 30- 50 years to live in, later, they become dangerous to live in, because they can collapse in every time.
and about map, it's good to see russian town map, it would be great if there would be teams like russian spetsnaz versus terrorists (maybe talibans, which are dressed in black ski masks and warmer or chechens).

oh and sorry for double post, idk how to edit.
it would be so awesome if this would be Insurgency mode and you could enter all apartments and check if there is cache.

Great looking map. I hope it runs smoother for me than Quinling does.

Does this mean that when the Russians get more maps the British will get the maps back?'[R-DEV wrote:IronTaxi;1085678']Yes the maps were lent to the russians.
Sorry for bringing this back up but I diddn't see the point in a new topic for it.
Love the look of the map, a nice big forest to fight through and then an equally nice looking city to fight in. Sounds like great fun.
