A long time ago we played with some 12 years old, whom voice was so annoing and he never stopped talking, he was like i'm on your six, 2 sec later. i'm behind you and so on he was the most talking guy in the sqwad. And it looked like all of us where annoyed so one guy changed his voice trying to mimique him, and began with somthing like "Hi my name is Mandy, its 6am in New Zeland, do you want to play darls" and so on, in high pitched voice, that was by far the most fun i had playing PR everyone in our 6man sqwad was like ROFL, exept for that 12 year old, he left after 30sec later and called us all noobs in allchat.
Forgive my bad English...

Not at all, they still play the game, governments and game developers are not making the effort to halt them playing, so its far from the end of story.[R-DEV]Nosferatu wrote:BF2 Ratings:

No 12 year olds. End of story.
If you believe they shouldn't be playing, contact someone who cares.
I for one love kids in my squad, because usually they do what they are told and aren't smartasses. I'm 17 so I can relate to them, think about it, they want a good game just as much as you do, so give them a break. Instead of kicking them straight up, simply tell them to not talk as much or do just be quiet entirely if they want to stay in the squad.
I quote a post I received an infraction for quite awhile ago, where someone clearly older than me enforced stereotypes which is the last thing the PR community needs, plus it demonstrated how older people, as someone said above, can be morons as well.

how many people here can honestly say that they never played a game that they were bellow the age of.
one of my first pc gaming memories would be the first doom and i can tell you that 12 years ago i was playing GTA when that had an 18 rating.
so come on people loose some of hypocracy in your posting.

Well, rather than worry about the impact 12yo will have on my gaming experience, Im far more concerned about the impact that playing will have on the social and mental development of 12yos.
Im glad when I was 12yo that gaming was not this advanced, as the limitations of gaming allowed me to say "screw this, its too hard" or "PoS, thats a ****ing glitch" and turn the machine off. Not to mention that you would get The Hollow Feeling when the lack of human representation was emphasised by sucky AI.
Its not simply the violence or the usual stuff youth would best avoid, but withdrawal from socialising with people close to them or important family time.
I'm against 12year olds playing for the above.

The government couldn't really stop kids from playing T and M rated games unless they posted agents in every house to make sure that kids' parents didn't buy the game for them, which would probably cause protests/riots/another civil war. And honestly, why would game developers want to keep them from playing? A sale is a sale.dtacs wrote:Not at all, they still play the game, governments and game developers are not making the effort to halt them playing, so its far from the end of story.

Re: DEBATE: What do you think about 12 year olds playing PR?
Well, the best teamplayer I`ve ever had in my squad was just 14 years old. He didn`t have a mic so I had no prblms with his voice
Now, here`s the thing... I don`t know how most people feel about "young" people (as in 12 years old). I really dislike squeaky voices which comes with that age. Meaning is, I also had that voice... 2 years ago. Now I am 15, and I`ve asked in-game how old did I sound. I got answers like "20" "24" "25" "You sound old!".
Honestly, I don`t care about how old is the player. Seriously. What DOES annoy me though is the tendency of 12-year-olds only play Computer games instead of studying (which is why I don`t have time to PR anymore) or going out, which normally means with Lots of commentaries... which unfortunatelly means more annoying voices in my and my squad members` heads. I say, hold comms, only say what you have to. In 2 years time your voice will be confused with your father's. Trust me. True story to a guy which only got his "man voice" 1 year ago.

My sentiments exactly.PlaynCool wrote:A long time ago we played with some 12 years old, whom voice was so annoing and he never stopped talking, he was like i'm on your six, 2 sec later. i'm behind you and so on he was the most talking guy in the sqwad.
That would be an odd reason for a war... which is not entirelly impossible.Cobhris wrote:The government couldn't really stop kids from playing T and M rated games unless they posted agents in every house to make sure that kids' parents didn't buy the game for them, which would probably cause protests/riots/another civil war.

I feel unwanted here...I don't think anybody that is less than 13 years old should play due to it's ratings and the violence here. But if they're in the younger teens 13-14 it really depends on their maturity whether they can handle the teamwork handled around in PR.

I normally dont mind 12 year olds in my squad unless they are overly enthusiastic I havent met that many in PR to begin with although there was this 12 year old commander once, I wanted to kill him he kept reporting everything even how the grass swayed in the wind those but 30+ year old men with the brains of 12 year olds now there's a problem

Online games is just not for them tbh. Thiers alot of stuff kids that age should not hear in game. their parents should enforce the age raiting, i know i will. and if they still wanna play PR then do what a friend of mine did. PLAY with them, make a squad and lock it.

Well, PR is probably the least-violent war game I've ever played.Phantom2 wrote:I feel unwanted here...I don't think anybody that is less than 13 years old should play due to it's ratings and the violence here. I mean, there's absolutely no blood in the game. (except for the bleed-out effect, of course. :razz
There doesn't seem to be anything content-wise in PR that would make it inappropriate. The only real reason I think some people don't like having young kids in their squad is because they are immature or their voices are just annoying.
I've been in squads with plenty of dumb little kids, and I've been in squads with plenty of dumb older kids.
It's all circumstantial, which is why this debate won't really reach a definitive conclusion.

Listen to the Mumble chat between rounds and you will find out why PR is not necessarily for 12 Year Old yearsSidewinder Zulu wrote:Well, PR is probably the least-violent war game I've ever played.

In all honesty, I don't really care how old/young someone is that I'm gaming with. For me it's all about attitude and maturity. I couldn't care less if you're 12 or 120 - If you compose yourself in a manner that would make any person proud to know you, I'm all for you being there. But the second you key up or start typing and are saying things like "Rape dat mofucka ******!" or things of that nature, that's when I would much rather you be gone.

Re: DEBATE: What do you think about 12 year olds playing PR?
I'm not at all worried about games corrupting or having a bad influense on 12 year olds. I played violent games when I was that age(As violent as the games of that time could be considered) and I turned out just fine. I remember Quake scared me alot, but it was my desicion to play it.
As for 12 year olds playing PR, I try to have an open mind. Being 12 often equals behaving like an idiot online. They just can't handle being able to interract with other people, while being anonymous. They haven't developt the emphaty needed to see themselfes from other peoples perspective.
HOWEVER there is alot of older people behaving just as 12 years old, just as some 12 years old actually have the maturity to interact well and enjoy the game the way it should.
Fortunally the smacktard kind isn't as frequent in PR as it is in most other games. There isn't enough gratification such as "Pwning" people or showing off their leet "Top scores" or "High level"
And the smacktards who actually nestles their way into PR I don't really notice, because they usually go rambo or sniping solo. Or get banned if they draw too much attention to themselves. PR isn't about impressing anyone, it's about the experience.
I don't think 12 year olds should be judged for being 12, everyone should be judge for ACTING 12.
Allthough I do find the voice to be quite distracting. I just try to pretend that it is a women soldier talking

Exactly my point old chap. Its impossible, and I don't endorse it.Cobhris wrote:The government couldn't really stop kids from playing T and M rated games unless they posted agents in every house to make sure that kids' parents didn't buy the game for them, which would probably cause protests/riots/another civil war. I'm going to let my kids play violent games if they are interested, but only if they have the mental capacity to know that its all fiction.

i think age restrictions should stand.
but honestly, if the kid is mature enough, does not ruin the gameplay, etc
then i dont see a problem

It depends. If they want o play PR for what is is, then okay. If they want to play PR like it is Call of duty or counterstrike then no.
If there is no teamwork and I can not call in CAS to blow a squad out of an entrentched position it is not PR, its just Cod with dated grafics.

I agree fully, as long as the person is mature about it and not running around screaming "THEY"RE COMING" or something to that extent then I'm fine with it
