That's the reason why I play on here. You don't have the immature kids or the constant mumble spam. Never had one issue in this server.
Their rules are simple and easy to follow.
Question for the admins; Is there a rule against squads not helping the team? Like a full squad of infantry not even NEAR a objective?

As far as I know, SLs are able to play as they seem fit. Few people want to play on a server where the admins force them to play exactly how they want or get punished.
Be a good buddy and help with peer pressure towards building the community the right way.

Exactly, peer pressure is the best medicine, and his answer is correct, we simply cant do that. We can add peer pressure as well.
@pierre, +5 and doop, thanks for your support.

I agree with Pierre. It's not easy playing with a bunch of immature players constantly running around, spamming mumble and doing their own thing. At HOG, I see less of that kind of behavior.

I recently applied and was accepted to helping admin the HOG PR server. I have contact with the majority of other admins, try to keep up with the server's activities and can say that it's a pleasure to be working with HOG's team.
While I expected it to be hard to play and accurately manage people's problems (some of them quite immature IMHO), I find that most of the admins are capable of pulling it off.
The admins are all normal human-beings, as are the people that play on the server. A mistaken kick or ban does happen, as does an occasional social-skill error because no-one is a robot. Those things can be resolved with little effort and maturity.
Acting admins are for the most part, better at understanding the game than a lot of the players. That extends to understanding communication, teamwork, and coexistence. It is their goal to be the barrier between those who want to play and those who want to make it hard for others. Happily, this goal has been sustained so far.
If I had a problem with the server quality, I most definitely would not have asked to admin this server. Being that the server is well managed and cared for, the players are looked after, and the admins are not jerks, I'm pretty happy to stand with them.
Presented below is my Certificate of Meritorious Service, granted by myself, one of its player base, describing what a player can expect on the HOG server.
Certificate of Meritorious Service Towards Player Experience
Granted for the following qualities:
Players who are disruptive to other players will be removed, as will people who like to use the game as a speak-easy for racism.
There is a very standard set of rules that isn't hard to understand and work is being put into coming up with further solutions to reduce their number even more.
HOG administration is using the tools they have available to empower all their admins so they can work as effectively as possible. No player has to wait for a senior admin to kick/ban troublemakers.
The number of admins will vary depending on the time of day/admin availability. Some admins have gone as far as staying up later than they really should just to make sure the players' gameplay is not hampered.
The HOG site is active to the point that most questions are answered by the end of the day (reasonable compared to industry standards) which is not bad for a group of guys who admin one server of one mod from one game.
HOG has streamlined its in-game systems so important things get spotted earlier by both players and admins.
Players will be required to join a squad, and should bring their social skills with them.
Players are not forced to do things they don't like just so they can stay on the server (rule breaking aside).
AFKs are regularly tracked so players have a greater chance of joining a full server.
Admins will not harass or penalize players unless they are breaking rules or upsetting other players.

Thanks for response. Yeah it bugs the **** out of me when you have a squad not even near flags...
Had some good rounds past 2 days. Just wish common sense was used by some players when dropping squads off right in the middle of a firefight (literally in the middle)

@super six,
This one time I was playing a pilot in an admins squad flew from RU main in Beirut and dropped a whole squad off who didnt even want to be there, they got wiped then he lost the helicopter. He didn't even get a warning and I got kicked for complaining about it. gg, exactly what you expect from hog.
Its not trolling its feedback that your admins cherry pick rules.

Again with the reports, you report more feedback than anyone else, your admins cherry pick rules, you have not even talked about addressing or looking into the issue. Maybe there is a reason I'm not getting infractions from you only reporting negative feedback.

Good Evening,
Um, something is set wrong or something on your server since the new update. Squads are staying the same when a new map loads. I haven't seen this on other servers but when you have folks with asset named squads constantly playing the same asset with no rotation, it makes it boring. I was told tonight by an admin that they weren't going to do anything about it and I basically needed to just say please and cross my fingers hoping that they would resign so others could play that asset. Really??
Fix it please.

Are the teams swapping? Like does the blufor team become the opfor team the next round. If not, the server is not auto swapping teams, which resigns all squads.

Well it just seems to me you're not providing "Feedback" you're just complaining about an issue you're just butt hurt about. And when is the last time you actually played on =HOG=? Have you ever been a server admin while the server is full? I don't cherry pick the rules. Actually hog admins get the bad rep because we DON'T cherry pick the rules. We follow them to the best of our ability.
Plus this thread was started in 2008. A lot has changed since then but, as you can see HOG still is one of the most popular NA servers in the game, there is a reason for that.
If you ever do decide to play on hog again, which I doubt you will so I don't even know why you're in this thread; how about you take sometime and read the rules for me please before you join us again to kill some REDFOR.

Great rounds today. Even though both were steam rolls it was filled with good players so was fun anyway.

Horrible experience on this Server.
Kashan: Transport kept crashing/flipping reported assetwaste ingame and no respond
Asad Khal: Getting randomly tked in mainbase point-blank reported it 3 times just getting ignored.
admins didnt seem to be AFK as they kept making !s annoucments (STAHP ALL CHAT) after 2-3 chats.
jolyroop meatplow were online.
2 HOG members run infront the HMG get killed like idiots then he says "one more time and you get kicked of the Server" he actually did get kicked lol. Now you respond in the wrong way?
Seriosly get ur admins straightened out. Everytime I try to play there at late night (EU time)I can't except anything from ur Server.
You are responsible for the proper administration and management of your server(s) in a fair and friendly way. The LICENSOR may, at the LICENSOR'S discretion and without prior notice, revoke this LICENSE if the LICENSOR believes that the server(s) is administered in such a way that it brings Project Reality into disrepute.

Have to agree potato, the admins on HOG have not been paying attention to the things happening on their server enough.

=HOG= is by no means the lowest on the "admin" totem pole, they may not have near as many active admins as they did in the past but from my personal experience the ones that are watching over the server are as good as can be expected given the circumstances of timezones and how many people from around the world frequent the server.
I have had plenty of fantastic rounds on HOG, and as of late it is the go-to server for the majority of the AAS loving NA players. I agree that some late-night admins would help the server, but there are other servers that run without admins for extended periods without being passively threatened.
