Doubt the engine could even accomodate that.

Needs more realistic sounds - less thud and more BANG. I'm extremely picky when it comes to firearm reports in games. I guess it's because I've been to a shooting range and heard a few weapons.

The only game that nailed it almost perfectly was Ghost Recon.

EDIT:

Also, what's up with "3rd person" sounds? You can do better than that. Even I can. :P

Ejection Seats/repelling from blackhawk

I think it would be tight if you would eject from the aircraft (only planes) after hitting e once in the air (after a cretin period of time). Mabey make it so you cant eject from helos, that is very unrealistic, so you would have to ride the crash out and then make the crashes more livable. Also you always have to land in a blackhawk witch makes you and easy target but if you could repel out of them (troops) that would add a great feature to the game in my opinion.

i hope these havnt been already posted i looked for a while but didnt find them  :camper: :26_suicid :17_ban: :35_rip: :d uh:

some suggestions

AT grenades for light AT

here is some information about firearms PLA:
http://www.sinodefence.com/army/small_arms/default.asp

i think the PF97 should replace the eryx and the JS 7.62mm become the sniper rifle for PLA.
And the QW-4 for the anti-air kit.

Anti-air, anti-tank technicals and BM-14 technicals for the insurgents.

I heard somebody saying that the T-62 and BRDM-2 aren't realistic for the Insurgents & Militia.
But the taliban does/did use them and i consider them as militia/insurgents:

You didn't see the thousands of fastrope threads? And you'd still be an easy target, you just wouldn't have the cover of buildings while hovering.

I would like an other support weapon for MEC, because the HK21 isn't used by middle east forces: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_&_Koch_HK21

I prefer one of these:
MG3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG3)
PKM

Neither is the HK53, as far as I know. Or the AK-101. Still, I'd like to see an MG3 as well. If only because the Norwegian Army uses it.

But not the PKM; it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the 7.62 NATO weapons.

If we wanted a light machine gun, how about the MG4 (5.56 NATO, I know, not standard, except the HK53 uses it)?

yeah, your right. maybe the MG4 should be the unlockable for support.

i don't know if this is the right place for suggestions, but i have one

how about that, in addition to hearing the distinctive sound of a bullet is passing very close by, your accuracy temporarily gets worse like in Americas Army (for those that are familiar with that game)

with that in place you really could suppress an enemy position by shooting LMG in their general direction to keep their heads down

i tried searching for something similar but couldn't find anything recent

Please, no. I'd far far rather keep my head down because the game mechanic made me want to not get shot than keep my head down because the game is informing me i should be crapping myself.

86 the "get ammo, here." message.

During stealth missions this can blow your cover seeing how you need to throw down a bag.

Civilians

Hi there - love your mod!

Have you thought about implementing AI civilians that might look like insurgents and would give a negative score to kill? Would give great "only fire when fired upon" ROE!! Ops in the middle east aren't fire on everything that moves - even artillery could be a problem in housing areas then... And the MEC/insurgents could use the tactic of the day - human shields...

Cheers

Realism. Full stop.

I don't care for the fun factor. Just make it as close to the real deal as possible. War is not fair. War is not balanced. I don't expect software that tries to simulate warfare realistically should attempt to bend to the will of the people looking for arcade frag-fests. For that there is Half-Life and Doom 3.

One 9mm bullet to the head kills or incapacitates no questions. One 5.56mm bullet from an M16 can leave a limb hanging by strings of meat. One bullet of any kind even to body armor will leave most non-rambo types on their ***.

Humvees have powerful engines. So do tanks and APCs. A (real) tank flattens almost anything in its path and is something to be feared by all to witness it's wrath.

People who fire their weapons at another soldier (heck, even point their weapons at another soldier) will be court-martialed. Some1 who fire's at an officer would most likely be shot in the head if they missed.

But here, above all else is my plea to the PR devs:

Implement training as a pre-requisite to be an Officer, Pilot, Commander, etc. The untrained destroy the PR experience for vets and other serious players.

Americas Army had one thing right out of all the worthless Unreal mod that it is: Basic Training - boot camp for new users. People should earn the right to be more than a grunt. The PR community pays a heavy price for the free-for-all style of gameplay that normally ensues when a game begins.

That's great, but it's a game, and people have to want to play it.
the BF2 engine does not have the capacity for perfect realist, period. The devs do what they can with what they have.

Um... I know.

  1. The engine has the capability to get pretty damn close to realistic.
  2. People will want to play it as long as it is fun. Those that are looking for a an action quickie will look elsewhere. Would that be a bad thing?
  3. The suggestions I made are to encourage responsible gaming. Specifically, a "life" being more valuable, and only trained people taking important positions that put other "lives" on the line.

i like the idea of boot camp, they can make it out of SP
but also PR does have a training tool = the wiki guide
but i suppose an interactive system is better than havin to read a 5 page document

The problem with the Wiki/any text

They are excellent sources of information for those willing to read them. Boot camp would force people to know what they are doing. Without a boot camp graduation - no special kits... etc.
